No, fight announcements don't normally come with a date - sometimes they do though.

But it's rare for fighters to say they are absolutely not having a fight when they're having a fight. I've never seen that before.

    Hope you're right - suspect you're wrong.

Would it be a different kind of stupid or hypocritical than when he said he'd never fight Joshua?

    C'mon.

Wilder is a piece of beef jerky. Very salty, thin, powerful flavor, and not too affected by age.

Im assuming that Wilder will stay in the WBC rankings for his next fight. Im thinking it will be Takam who is currently 15th in WBC rankings.

    Not really.
He'd just say "I've decided to beat him up again".

That was for the Fury fight. Takam said the deal was 95% done before they dropped out last minute.

In a recent article he said that he only wants Whyte. I doubt Whyte wants to risk the rematch against Povetkin for the interim title. But looks like Wilder wants to take that route to fast track back to the belt since Fury doesn't need to fight him again.

kownacki would be a great opponent. riskless fight against a come forward domestic level fighter that would almost guarantee a higlight ko, great confidence booster.
