The guy he sparked tonight was no tomato can. Im excited to see wilder fight now...and HOPEFULLY its all upper guys from now on. We need to see his chin and stamina tested---but the guy has BRUTAL power !

other than power, you need to have the skills to make use of that power

hopefully his opposition will keep getting better

Relax. I and most everyone here thought Wilder would easily get by Liak, who was totally shot. Until he fights and beats a few live HWs there's no reason think he will be "unstoppable"

Btw yes, there's no more Ali's today. No 215# HW today is even a contender, except for Haye. And DH didn't exactly come close to winning vs Wlad :yep

I agree Deontay Wilder is criminally underrated. I always rated him higher than Price even when Price was already being heralded in as "at least a future unified champ" by the usual types. Still, I need to see how Wilder fairs against a Kevin Johnson, Ustinov, Chisora, Wach before I make any wild predictions about dominating the sport. These 4 sturdy solid non top 10 fellas would all be excellent step up fights for Wilder but very tough, he wouldn't be the first hyped prospect to fall while stepping up at this stage.

They might as well engrave his name on the belt right now. Wlad's getting hoofed into the ground!

I'll admit I wasn't a believer in Wilder's power before having just fought nobodies, but after seeing what he did to Liakhovich iv'e changed my mind, that boy can hit, it wasn't the best version of Liakhovich but nobody has done that to him, it took Helenius & Jennings 9 rounds to stop the same version of Liakhovich. I won't get carried away with him but he does have good potential and if he continues to improve who knows what he could achieve.

This is hilarious. Wilder scores a major KO against someone past his prime since 2006 yet he's now the savior of kings to all simple minded bumpkins.

Good point. Kind of like if Maravilla retires without facing Golovkin.

Sadly, at this point if anyone (even Wilder) were to beat Wlad, history would view it as Wlad being well past his prime.

Plus, Wlad will NEVER get into the ring with Wilder. Why take a chance like that when there are easier paydays, and his fans don't seem to care?

There are parallels to be made with Price: big frame and massive ko power, but untested against the top contenders with potential chin, stamina, heart and technique issues.

He's beaten a few top 100 guys. They'll need to start looking at some top 20 guys soon.

It only takes on shot to turn Wlads lights off and he's not un-hittable plus Wilder is not a walking stump like Peters.
He's making the right move quitting to fight amateurs.
