Very true. And if Wilder starts fighting Wlad-style, he might have a very successful career still. But to do so, he'll need to use his height and power to keep people from hitting him cleanly. I haven't seen his last few fights, but what I had seen of him indicated he's still very raw and fairly uncomfortable fighting stand-up. Despite being 6'7", he seems to like working on the inside, and that will get him into trouble in the long term.

 

You're like a gnat or a fly that you just can't get rid of. It's not really hurting anything, it's just the same damn buzzing noise constantly.

If you EVER!!, had ANYTHING to say that wasn't about glass jaws, you might not be so annoying. Unless, of course, you're intentionally being an irritating little troll, in which case I would say good job.

 

Eh. Alexander had been KOed in 8 of his previous 12 bouts and Reed in 3 of his prior 6. Reed is better than his record indicates, but not that much better. Wilder hasn't even faced someone at the level of Scott Gammer yet, and you could make a decent argument that Helenius's pro debut came against someone better than anyone Wilder has faced.

Helenius has had a great schedule for a 16 fight pro, but there have been a number of others in recent years with similarly difficult schedules or better - Povetkin, Solis, Pulev, and Glazkov, and even guys like Fury and Ortiz aren't THAT far behind.

 

I agree. He definitely has a suspect chin and needs to develop a Wlad-style if he's going to get anywhere. Maybe gain a little weight, too.

It's readily apparent that this guy's Chin has the consistency of dried horse **** and Stevie Wonder could see that with such a fraudulent Jaw and ****-poor defense that Wilder is a brutal KO waiting to happen. There's also circumstantial evidence beyond the video of him being flattened in the amateurs and buzzed by bums in the pros and that's the fact that his management is clearly steering him away from anyone who can crack or anybody with a pulse for that matter in lieu of putting him in with guys that should be plying their trade at Dirty Dick's Fight Night at the local strip joint.

Wilder is a Glass Jawed Fraud and a disgrace to boxing. The sooner he gets his pathetic Chin crushed and retires the better.

 

Oh absolutey. A guy like that sends my Glass Jaw Radar into a frenzy. Wilder is harboring a fragile Glass Mandible and I have pointed this out for years. Once he gets past fightin off duty parking attendants and liquor store workers, he's getting brutally and embarrassingly knocked out.:yep

 

I agree. he reminds me of wlad in that way. as you probably know wlad didnt always employ the stick and move stand up style. it wasnt until he started getting knocked out that he started to change his tactics. he used to have this pseudo-slick style and often fought on the inside. nevertheless, he was still a league ahead of deontay at the same stage

LOL @ Brits putting down Deontay, while **** like Kell Brook and Tyson Fury are national treasures. LOL

Deontay is doing alright and is is slowly fighting better comp, while developing his own arsenel as well. Personally I would like to see him with someone like Manny, who will teach him to fight his height, but I don't mind the lesson in fundamentals that he is learning now as he is slowly coming up.

 

I know he's been knocked down once, but who has "wobbled" him "badly" and when has he been "hurt" otherwise. You cite several times. Please tell us which opponents have wobbled and hurt him.
