Well he only been boxing since 06. Wilder, was the only USA Olympic medalist. Yes, he needs to step it up some but he is fighting Owen Beck next and that's a start. Wilder, has very good power in both hands.

Don't listen to these pretenders. Deontay has never been beaten so I'd say he is alright.
He's fighting bums because he is young still. He has a good jab,a powerful right hand that was taught to him by Mark Breland and he has sparred with David Haye and Tony Thompson.
He has 2 fights lined up already and he will be stepping up soon according to him and his team. Deontay would smack David Price. But,Bryant Jennings is awesome too.

 

Young? He's an olympic medalist with over 20 pro fights and he still hasn't fought a live body. He's a complete joke, it's gonna be great when they put him in with a live body and he gets destroyed

 

Maybe him and Malik Scott can have a fight, lol.

Seriously though, at least his knocking everyone out he's fighting, but I lean towards the majority here that I think he's going to have a hard time with the first reasonable opponent he fights.

 

he has a very bad chin. its pure glass. if he could deelop some defensive skills or get a better trainer

 

I don't have a problem that he's fighting cans, but after 22 bouts it's time to step up.

 

i feel im in the minority but i think he is just fine

he is moving at a safe pace and is young with time on his side

i used to share the same sentiments as most of you but i realized something

he is what 26 or 27 by the time he is 30,31, or 32 both Klits will probably gone and he will be in his prime, there is no immediate successor or guy seemingly ready to claim the heavyweight mantle

if he maneuvers right in 5 yrs he will be right in the swing of the title picture

i dont understand this rush and hurry to push guys into fights they arent ready for

right now, it wouldnt be a fair fight. deontay fighting thse type of fighters will not make him better.:deal

We don't actually know the extent of his power because the guys he has been fighting could be knocked out by a ninety year-old woman. I think it's safe to say that he is not Feather Fisted but it would be unwise to label him a Tyson-esque puncher because he's knocking out drunks they pulled off of bar stools in Alabama honky tonks in one round.

Being unbeaten means nothing when you look at the level of opposition he has faced. He should be unbeaten because he hasn't faced a single live body yet and he still managed to nearly get himself KOed against a nobody bum in Sconiers. Wilder has no Chin. None. There is a reason he is 20+ fights into his career and is still fighting the dregs of the professional Boxing World in strip club-level fights in Alabama and that reason is his Glass Jaw. He is going to be exposed as soon as he's in with a B or even C-level opponent.

 

you dont know that, he could make major jumps in the next few years, imagine if he were to get Steward as a trainer a guy who lives off tall guys

in a few years Haye will be gone hes half way out the door already

Perez could always bust

Povetkin might still be around but i dont know i feel he loses soon

Heleius is a real dangerous guy

Is very possible a future pound for pound candidate for the chin-checker's glass jaw list. . . As an honorary/auxiliary member, I assure you all the early indications are there. . .

I guarantee as soon as he fights a B- type guy, he'll get cracked on that mandible, and he'll do a stanky leg. . He'll prolly survive, and win, but this will be the first real indication, aside from "promotional protection we've seen thus far."

 

We've already seen (rather heard since his management won't release video of the fight) further evidence beyond the overprotection and that is when bum Harold Sconiers dropped him. The guy is a vicious KO waiting to happen and most fans know that, he knows it, and most importantly, his management knows it which is why he is going to keep fighting worthless fights until the gaudy record of KOs is enough to net him a cash-out fight with a legitimate fighter.
