im a Wilder fan but this is a joke, Price and Manswell were good opponents for him at the time but this guy got koed in 2 rounds by James toney and in 3 by Kevin Johnson, this is his 27th fight its impossible for him to get better as a boxer if hes gonna keep takin these easy fights, at least get him someone like Michael Sprott or Tupou or someone smallish

Without reading I'm going to guess that someone is going to bring up Greer's 86.6% KO ratio, the fact that Wilder only fought a month ago and something about a lack of amateur experience to legitimize him facing another bum.

Price will eventually be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world when the Klitchkos retire.

Wilder would be nothing more than cannon fodder for him.

Mayweather only had 90 amateur matches. Is Wilder half as good? No. He's become a joke.

Actually, Wilder only had 32 amateur fights, FWIW.

32 whole fights, and he won the Golden Globes, made the Olympic team, & won a bronze medal.

He was KD'd by Harold Sconiers, who was basically a cab driver, but that was Wilder's 13th pro fight, and his 45th fight EVER. Yeah, he made a mistake. Then he got up & KO'd Sconiers in the 4th.

He's fought mostly bums, but he's had lousy management, he's too dangerous for most fighters to agree to fight him, and he needs to fight constantly to pay for his daughters huge medical bills.

Give the guy a ****ing break already.

32 fights then. Fine, it's not a lot, but he's had what, four years, five, as a pro? Nothing wrong with stay-busy fights, nothing wrong with being brought along gradually, but Wilder's pro career has shown very little progression, it's for the most part just a string of fat and/or short bums.

If you really, REALLY wanna bring up a lack of amateur career; Hopkins had less than Wilder, and by 26 fights into his pro career had already faced RJJr and had generally been facing a better standard of opposition than Wilder has. He then fought Glen Johnson a few fights later. Wilder really doesn't have too many good excuses.

To be a supposedly grade a undefeated prospect and be fighting the likes of Matthew Greer nearly 5 years into his career, it's an absolute joke. He either has the world's worst management team, or they have a damn good reason not to put him in with anyone good. Every time he takes a small step up he then goes back to fighting utter shite, can't wait for him to be exposed in all honesty, shows everything wrong with boxing today

It's a ****ing stay busy fight, he fought a decent opponent for his own level 2 months ago, you wouldn't even expect most people to be back in the ring these days within that time, why does everyone have such a hard on for the kid?
