wilder was doing those wild punches and off balance swings in his 5th fight what he still does now with 36 fights under his belt.

its between his ears whats the problem / he can settle down and look for openings its just fighting very weak opposition has meant he has not had to adapt to what he has been gewtting away with for so long.

only when he fears something coming back will he learn tp pick his shots better and not throw hail marys when he does not have his legs under him .

IMO breland is the wrong trainer because wilder obviously makes lots of mistakes..

Yeah, I was kind of surprised Wilder was that wild and off balanced at this stage.
I thought maybe it was the fact that he is getting more exposure now and perhaps nervous with all the potential opponents (Fury, Povetkin) at ringside, or perhaps it was Szpiikla's movement which was much better than I expected and probably better than Wilder expected also.

Wilder finally adapted to the movement by letting Szpilka come to him and using counter right hands ala Floyd Mayweather until he finally caught him with that bomb.
I think he should have been able to make that adjustment sooner, around the 4-5 round.
Another problem is Wilder is training in Alabama Breland may go to Alabama, but other good trainers may not, unless they are getting paid to work just with Wilder.

I hate to see a fighter abandon his trainer after he obtains a title, but the fact is, that's what Lennox Lewis did. He abandoned his trainer for Stewart and Stewart took him to the next level.

What kind of returd are you?

AJ's first 5 fights are better than Wilders first 5
AJ's next 5 fights are better than Wilders 6 to 10
AJ's Next fights 11 to 15 are stupidly better than Wilders 11 to 15

In fact AJ's last 5 fights are better than anything wilder fought up until Bermane at fight 33

Thanks for the lesson in subjectivity. :good

Wilder would have played with and KO'ed AJ's last opponent who was less than Eric Molina.

Let's wait a couple weeks and see if Joshua man's up and answers Joseph Parker's call to the ring. Some how, I doubt he will. :hey

I don't know if you've watched his fights but he has a very good left hook also, although he only throws it as a counter or to set up the right.
I guess he has more confidence in his right, but with the right trainer, his left hook could become just as powerful.

Joshua is only taking his time management right now he's the lottery ticket and his team know that. Of course fury is calling "everyone out" he's under contract to fight the shot and gunshy wlad. Prior to his wlad fight DW team sent fury an offer. That offer was actually before even DW held a title.

If you really think calling someone (that's not possible to make) is all bs and it's one trying to get his own name out by dropping names. You can't be that gullible, or are you.

Soon as joshua gets a title shot, he'll own that belt until he'd old and will have all 4 major belts.

Hey Parker, I'll fight you tnw. Does that constitute Parker ducking me, it has to by your logic. Joshua is not turning down any offer that can help him get the proper rounds for development ..

Just sit back and watch ggg, kovalev joshua and DW light up the boxing world for many years to come

Szpilka outfought him. Povetkin, who is much better than Szpilka and carries actual power, will tenderize Wilder. Wilder's power isn't going to help him when he's on his back looking at the pretty floating lights.

Szpilka moves much better than Povetkin, and his movement is what gave Wilder problems. Shields did a great job with Szpilka. He definitely listened and learned better than Jirov. Had Jirov had that kind of head movement, he might have beaten James Toney.

Povetkin doesn't have that style of movement and will be a big target for Wilder. We'll have to see how much power Povetkin has left after eating a few dozen of Wilder power shots.
If Wilder's team doesn't fix Wilder's balance, he may very well taste the canvas against Povetkin, but Wilder has a good chin and is game, so I expect he'll get up and finish Povetkin.

i"ve seen about 4 of his latest fight and the opponents were not even top 50 contenders including szpilka who NOBODY ever heard about/talked about until he had a scheduled fight with wilder when he magically shot up the ranks in the wbc to become a top 10. His left hook is extremely loopy and highly telegraphed something a true top 10 would have no problem picking up on. I actually like wilder his style makes for exciting fights and he's an american HW but I just dont think he has the boxing talent to compete with true top 10 contenders with enough money any 6-7 College athlete could be a dontay wilder. My point being wilder is athletic but his boxing skills are lacking. He beats povetkin but povetkin is over rated he's just from the right geographical area during the right time today in boxing any russian with record of 10-0 or better is going to be hyped up guess people got tired of Mexicans dominating the sport lol

How is that bone china delicate chin going to stand up to another top 20 fighter who can punch?

When his handlers, the WBC and investors know he was knocked out by Haye and Wlad in sparring for example are they going to match him with a top 20 fighter who can punch a bit?

How much belief do they have in him when he is constantly matched with fighters outside of the top 30, weak punchers and over the hill fighters only turning up to take a dive?

This must be some kind of corrupt sick joke. It is.

Deontay Wilder's POWER Is Too Much For Everyone....

...except for 140 lbs mental patient Charlie Zelenoff apparently.
