Those Wilder fans who accuse Anthony Joshua of having suspect stamina and conditioning because his stamina was exposed at the highest level against top heavyweights. Well, Wilder's stamina against the only top heavyweights he's fought himself (in Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury) was also exposed to be lacking. Wilder has very suspect stamina and a bigger puncher than Fury (there are many out there) would have stopped Wilder when Fury had Wilder tired. In fact, if Fury himself upped the intensity, pace and work-rate when he had Wilder tired, I'm pretty confident he would have stopped Wilder. Like how Usyk did against Bellew! Unfortunately, Fury decided to play it a little too safe which was his own downfall. This was the best version of Wilder we can see. However, Fury is still on his comeback stages and is only going to get better as more time passes and the more excess pounds of weight he sheds. That was far from the best Fury we saw tonight!
Yeh, fighting on Wilder's home turf, somehow he was going to get away with taking drugs. A very believable story indeed! How about the possibility that Wilder was on drugs but still gassed (because of how crap he is)?
That just proves how bad his stamina is. The fact that a much fatter and overweight man in Fury had better stamina than the leaner looking and much lighter Wilder. Not to also mention that this Fury is still ring rusty and hasn't fully recovered from the lay off.
A glass jawed Eric Molina got back up every time after Wilder dropped him. This Molina was knocked out twice in the first round before facing Wilder. Maybe Wilder's power is overrated and lacking?
Wilder badly ran out of steam around the halfway mark of the fight. That's when Fury came on. Basic strategy of one boxer waiting and doing almost nothing until the other guy tires himself out. We've seen it a million times. Fury gave away many of those early rounds, but judges still gave it to him. That's like having your cake and eating it too - absurd. I think Wilder did look a little off tonight too but he did very nearly got Fury out of there after all so what are you gonna do. He needs to work on energy management for sure though. Ultimately Joshua wipes the floor with both of them and is the only clear no1 heavyweight out there at the moment.
