I decided to make a Wilder video of his Top 9 stoppage wins. No doubting the boys got power. I took points from you guys on my last videos so any feedback on this one would be great. This content is protected
Hes had his fair share of 'below world level' opponents but I wouldn't class Luis Ortiz as a pudding. Szpilka and Stiverne whilst not the best operators were/are tough guys and he dispatched of them! His power isn't even in question, I think his boxing ability is some what under rated. A lot of the clips of him throwing wild ass punches and missing is when he has his opponents hurt, It doesn't matter at that point he can throw what he wants. He still has the skills to work himself into that position. If you watch him carefully he likes to paw with a lazy jab in the hope that his opponent tries to counter it which leaves them open to his big shots. He has fought and scored knock outs with left hands, right hands, on the back foot or on the front foot. Does he have the ring IQ or movement of Fury? No but what he lacks in that he makes up for in his strength, chin and stamina. This is what makes it a good contest.
Stiverne is an absolute pudding mate, Szpilka is a less expensive pudding and Old Ortiz is a decent punchbag to get the rounds in. I do enjoy watching the KOs and is there any reason why you stuck at 9 instead of the usual 10 - it does grab one's attention if that was the objective. Keep them coming.
I have argued with myself over this for a few years now because I didn't want to just write Wilder off as a power punching, windmilling freak. I agree with what you are saying but he's fighting to be the best, the best didn't make so many glaringly obvious errors, the laughable miss against Fury in the 12th after the knockdown, I know he's tired and desperate but f**k me did that look silly. I've never seen anything like it from a World Champion with multiple defences. He's just insane at certain things, so insane that they become lethal equalizers.
