If Wilder beats Ortiz in impressive fashion he will gain and regain tons of fans!!!! Especially if Ortiz looks decent in defeat trying to put up a good fight.

We still may bash the hell out of him for his out of ring behaviour but i wouldnt keep going on about how he never steps up. Well unless he started fighting another 5 consecutive fights vs top 20 guys right after, lol

Also it depends on how AJ does vs Parker obviously. If AJ looses and they both look bad then a impressive win by Wilder over Ortiz would probably put him as the top dog in many peoples eyes.

Then again, what happens if Parker looks great vs AJ or vice versa?

Imo IF Wilder looks great or good enough against Ortiz his fan base will explode, REGARDLESS! If he doesnt it wont. Until he steps up and looks good vs the top guys, basically the way it has always been for every top boxer.

Ortiz won't be such a big win for Wilder, Luis is an OLD man on high blood pressure medication.

Wilder should have fought him a few years ago, it would have been more meaningful at that time. But Deontay's over-protective management won't permit him to fight any decent heavyweight close to his prime.

    MVC you far off.........

I don't even like Joshua but he is clearly the best in the divison

If you compare his resume to wilders is laughable Joshua in 20 fights has fought fighters like whyte/wlad/Molina/brezzy/ and now he is fighting a belt holder in parker who for me is the second best in the dvison

Wilder has 40 fights and his best opponent is a **** stiverne who already got knocked out in the past and nearly lost to anther bum

    1. Joshua/povetkin
    2.parker
    3.wilder possibly

If Joshua hasn't earned his belts then Wilder hasn't. This won't even be an argument after he beats Parker.

Wilder can be the #1 but he needs to beat the roided up bodybuilder to claim that spot.

Lol you beat me to it,what happens after he gets the Hybrid belt though, will he duck all of the top twenty hybrids for the next four years lol?
Only in MVCs world does a win over Ortiz who’s resume is almost as bad as Wilders himself top Wlad who bossed the division for over a decade.
Seriously I’ll be buzzing to see that fight but I’ve never seen in Ortiz what so many others have,Hearn gave him to showcase fights against Malick Scott and Allen and he looked far from good albeit against Scott whose aim was to survive.

I would expect the Hybrid to win against Ortiz and when he does all of these Wilder fans will write this off as Wilder beating up an old washed up version of Ortiz just to be consistent like they treated AJ against Wlad right?

Look that shambles with the IBF was a psy op granted but that one aside Blizz AJ unlike Wilder wanted to unify by beating the no 2 HW in Wlad which is something Wilder has never looked to do even though after winning his WBC belt he talked of wanting to unify only four years later Blizzy your guy has still not come close to doing has he?

If AJ beats Parker he will have achieved something that Wilder should of already done or at least tried to do.
You do realise Wilder has only fought one guy inside the top twenty, our expectations of Wilder are now so small that we don’t expect him to fight anyone of note unlike Joshua who gets stick for fighting Takam as a replacement, both Parker’s and Wilders replacements were rubbish and nobody said anything about em.

This post is shocking, because I always assumed MVC & WBC have Wilder as #1

I ranked Deontay Wilder as #1, when he reached 29-0-0-0 (KO 29)

Back then irrational fans were doubting Wilder Greatness & placed him very low in rankings
10 fights later jokes are being made about him being #2

For me he is easily #1 until proven otherwise, Luis Ortiz deadly power is the biggest threat to Wilder & Joshua. If Wilder beats Ortiz, Joshua will be a walk in the park in comparison...All Wilder has to do is try to KO Joshua early, if it didn't work wait & get help from Joshua unreliable Stamina

The only way Wilder isn't beating AJ...is if AJ doesn't get in the ring with Wilder

Joshua is a PED Tiger, Wilder is natural, confident & motivated...Joshua only hope now is an Ortiz Cuban Missile to stop Wilder...If Wilder beats Ortiz, then the all out ducking will start (pricing himself out, scheduling fights with other fighters...etc)

You should watch Wilder get utterly wrecked in the amateurs by that Russian dude. Wlad wrecked him in sparring. He’s been down against journeymen. When he gets clipped by AJ it’s over

if it's 'irrefutable' why you do you keep repeating it in the hope that it will come true?

When will Wilder fight a legit opponent? If he fights Ortiz, that will be, by far, the best opponent he has ever fought period! Joshua is superior, Wilder had a chance to fight Joshua and Parker, but he refused. Wilder avoids legit fighters for a reason....................Ortiz is an old 50 year old fighter on high blood pressure medicine! And yet Ortiz is still a threat! Why didn't Wilder fight Parker, Povetkin, Miller, Whyte, Ruiz, Takam, an old Vlad, no, he somehow got an old out of shape Stiverne ranked #1 WBC, which is a sick joke! Remember, WBC had, for some reason, made Breazeale Wilder's mandatory, he qualified by getting knocked out by Joshua................I suspect Breazeale is on call to fight Wilder if Wilder backs out of the old man Ortiz fight...................
