This is laughable. Whyte has looked like trash against non shot opponents.

Breazeale's best win is over Amir Mansour, who was over 40 years old and couldn't even beat Gerald Washington.

Gary Cornish is a complete scrub with a padded record. He's the type of guy a past prime Tyson would run over in under a minute.

Martin showed up for a $8.5 million payday. Martin gave the most pathetic effort I've ever seen a titleholder give. Joshua was even embarrassed with how pathetic Martin's performance was.

Parker was a good win, but Joshua barely won and if that fight were held anywhere else most likely would've been scored a draw.

Besides Parker Joshua only has an old and shot Wlad on his resume, who he struggled with and even got knocked down, which makes me question Joshua's chin.

You think the two records are comparable? Joshua was fighting for the commonwealth title in his 14th fight less than two years into his pro career, looking to add that to the WBC intercontinental he won in his ninth. Two fights later he was world champion.

Wilder didn't challenge for any belt until his 26th fight. He won the WBC in his 33rd, but it took 7 more defences till fight 40 to face a top ranked opponent.

Joshua has made five defences, fighting 3 of the current top ten, adding 2 more titles (+ the IBO), taking the unbeaten records of Martin, Breazeale and Parker and beaten the man of whom Wilder's manager said:

“Look, (Wilder) is a baby winning the title. It was his first title fight, they'll be a time for unification, they'll be a time for all those things, he could go and Povetkin (the No. 2 contender) in Russia and make $10 million,” Finkel said to the Tuscaloosa News. “It's not the right thing yet. Give him a couple of fights, maybe bring something back to Alabama. Let him develop just like any other athlete. They don't take someone who is a great college prospect and throw him right in. And this kid is a great prospect.”

That 'great prospect' had 33 fights under his belt at that moment and was older than AJ is today. Who knows if he's any good or not? He's been fighting Pinata's and former guys in decline almost from start to finish.

No denying that Wilder has been heavily protected for a long time. Even before he beat Stiverne there were threads about when he would step up. But I don't think he was necessarily matched up with older fighters on purpose that's just a by product of facing weak opposition.

When he won the title he had only 2 options for a title shot, an old Stiverne or an even older Wlad. So in this scenario he chose the younger, albeit weaker fighter. So I don't think the age thing is really an issue. Joshua fought an old Wlad, will likely fight an old Povetkin, Wilder himself is older than Joshua, it's just a case right now many of the best fighters are in their 30's at heavyweight.
