If WBC says postponed and Wilder's team backs out entirely, they could still be in line for being stripped.

Since Wilder's biggest paydays in the near future all involve either this fight or unification, his team may want to hold off on backing out altogether just yet. Get another voluntary granted, wait for AP to test 100% clean in the meantime or get suspended and lose his status, and go from there. Tough situation, but overreacting could cost him millions.

The WBC is postponing the fight, not cancelling it. Wilder has threatened the WBC that if he is forced to fight Povetkin he will give up the title...............the promoter in Moscow is a billionaire and he paying huge money for the fight.................Wilder could retire after this fight a rich person, but instead he proves that he is a coward. Wilder did all this begging, trying to cancel the fight, but is was the billionaire in Moscow who won the purse bid. Why didn't Wilder's people win the purse bid? They are doing an investigation, so Wilder wants to stop that. Wilder is above boxing, he is the greatest heavyweight in boxing history, so much better that Joe Louis, just ask him.............

 

I am disgusted by how quickly Wilder pulled out of this.

I don't see why people could think this fight would take place.

 

Because Povetkin could have had 50x this level for all the tests and it would have been considered a clean fight.

We don't know why it's reported that the drug didn't show up before. That's why WBC postponed the fight. To investigate.

But Wilder? Instant cancellation for him.
