I really liked that pudgy little Soutpaw. I thought he would unify against Sultan, and go on to fight Kilt. Now, he may never fight again. Holler if you hear me.
It was a retinal problem? Well, on the bright side, much like David Reid, at least they can look back and say that they accomplished everything they could in the sport....amateur greatness, and the right to be called world champion.
Didn't Virchis knock the ever loving **** out of Bidenko? He's good, but I've heard he's damaged goods these days.
WHAT? he may never fight again period???? he was my 4th favorite heavyweight... and i honestly think he was the second best in the division. yes... i think he could beat peter. what seems to be the problem?
Don't give up on him just yet! I strongly believe that he'll recover and return to the ring. He's my favourtite heavyweight.
I don't think anyone said he chickened out of the Sultan fight. I don't recall reading even one post that said he chickened out, so please refer us to the posts you are refering to.... I'll wait...........:blood
I know there were. You said that some idiots were claiming he chickened out. There was not one that said that. Not that I read.
Yes,he did beat the **** out of Bidenko. And yes,he hasnt been the same since that devastating loss to Virchis. Virchis vs Bidenko was one of the most entertaining and exciting heavy weight fights I have seen within the last couple of years. It rivals Brewster vs Lyakhovich in terms of drama, fun, and excitiment. This fight should be in every fight fans' tape or dvd collection at home. As for Bidenko I still have the hope that he will be able to win some big fights in his career.Since his loss to Virchis he has won all his pro fights, but he still seems to be a bit gunshy. He made the water very hot for Valuev-in his 4th pro fight. Bidenko is no big puncher, but it used to be a pleasure watching him do his job inside a box ring.Sadly, this cant be said about his last couple of fights. Anyway! I for sure would pay quite a decent amount of money to watch him fight Virchis in a rematch.
And I was one of them. Never once did I question Chagaev's heart, or even blame him for it- it would've been smart business on his part considering he hasn't had a huge payday yet. I was wrong, but let's not pretend boxing's a perfectly clean sport and things like that don't happen.
I really hope Ruslan is able to get healthy and fight again because he is an exciting, smart young champion who would give anybody in the division a hell of a fight. It would be a damn shame if he had to hang up his gloves.
It's very sad if he loses his career because of this. I always liked Ruslan, since he was 4-0. My friends and I used to go to parties, and out of fun, we'd trick people into thinking we were Russian immigrants...i would tell people my name was "Ruslan Chagaev!!!" Great fighter, though. I think he's the only definite threat to Wlad's reign.
