Wlad didn't duck either, since Wlad lost his titles against Fury. The earliest a Wlad-Wilder clash could've happened was in 2016, but with Wlad losing and not being able to get a rematch with Fury it killed any possibility of the fight happening with him and Wilder..

This also goes for Ortiz, who beat Jennings for the Interim WBA title in 2015 and had his focus on Fury, who recently beat Wlad. Unfortunately for Ortiz Fury was very vocal that he had no interest in fighting Ortiz and would drop the WBA strap before fighting Ortiz, who brought no money or audience to the table.

Joshua also had no interest in fighting Ortiz once he as well and Hearn played Ortiz like a fiddle. I still can't believe Ortiz was dumb enough to let the Wlad-Joshua fight go through and that Hearn would keep his word.

This. Ortiz couldn't get a fight with Fury or Joshua despite being their mandatory, but Wilder allowed Ortiz to fight him as a voluntary when he didn't have to.
