Golota has the boxing, but not much heart, would Chisora’s will and superior stamina get to him, make it tough and make Golota wilt mentally? People might think it would get tough for Golota, but Chisora has will and stamina which are a good combination of attributes, also Pulev is comparable skill wise to Golota, but is tougher mentally. Who wins this matchup?
Sometimes, the skillset doesn't matter. You got the biggest heart ever in the heavyweight division against a guy who clearly did not wish to fight. War Chisora takes it, and fairly easily.
I think Chisora is the kind of fighter that can really test Golota's suspect temperament aswell. Chisora has a solid chin and keeps coming at you and unless you're a real big hitter like Haye then you're in for a long hard nights work which Golota didn't like. Golota threw away 2 fights vs Bowe because Bowe wouldn't quit. Golota threw away a fight vs Grant who is of similar level to Chisora because Grant showed some courage late on and wouldn't quit. I can see Golota racking up an early points lead and then Chisora's constant pressure makes Golota wilt in the later rounds. Golota is far more skillful than Chisora but Chisora has some stuff inside himself that you can't teach and that's a huge heart and the willingness to not quit when the chips are down. Chisora arguably beat Parker, Whyte, in their 1st fights. And has been on the wrong end of some other decisions that could've gone his way. I think only Haye and Fury have been the only ones to really convincingly beat Chisora.
Yes, I think Derek would make Golota quit late while trailing on judges' cards. Golota is better boxer but he was mental midget compared to tough as nails Chisora. And I would also strongly favour Chisora to beat Shannon Briggs from that era.
The first Whyte fight was razor thin with a lot of rounds hard to score. There is no doubt whatsoever that he whipped Parker's ass in their first fight and won by every metric you can win a boxing match.
Gołota is too good, pre or post accident. You could maybe make a case for Chisora catching and making some unstable version of Golota quit, but it's not like be didn't went through absolute fireworks before fouling out against Bowe.
The funny thing is that even despite Golota's mental state, the version of him from the Bowe fight still beats most men that have ever and will ever fight at Heavyweight. His jab, combinations, and pressure was just phenomenal.
