I honestly don't see how you gave Gonzalez some of those rounds he was slippery an made him miss a bit but hardly threw out back himself!

If that's your view, did you give him any? :think

Quality matters, unless the disparity in volume of work is so ridiculously large (and it wasn't here - Butler did clearly throw more but missed quite a lot)

Gonzalez would have had to knock Butler out to get a draw.

Perhaps a domestic showdown with Kalid Yafai in a year or so is the best step for Butler. Yafai will be good but needs more fights.

    Official cards:

    Howard Foster 117-112
    Dave Parris 120-108
    Marcus McDonnell 119-110

    UD for Paul Butler

All three can GTFO and die. Foster was closest to the mark, but still too generous to Butler.

Body shots count. So do lig ht jabs that only make slight contact. Perhaps you were overly dismissive of many of those?

Score cards pretty much what was expected.

Unfortunately Gonzalez is a very difficult boxer to give rounds to, very difficult to land on but probably not active enough to dominate rds clearly when overseas.

I do think he needs to drop down to flyweight, would be much stronger at 110lbs then 115lbs.

He's still 24 years old though so could develop into a Top 10 Flyweight in a few years from now.

    OMG!
Dave Parris clearly isn't happy with all the attention CJ Ross is getting! :yikes

He shacks up in the same opium den with CJ Ross.

They're actually in a menage-a-trois with Doug Tucker. (remember him?)

Apart from the Walsh fight - the judging has been awful. To be expected with a British card these days. I think an undercover expose is needed eventually into the life of a judge. It's strange how all THREE judges scored that similarly. For a fight that was close, I can understand Paris scoring it wide, however all three believing it was a UD, seems just a little weird.

If "being a British citizen at all times" is a scoring criteria (and it seems it was), then yes, Butler pitched a shutout over Gonzalez.
