Well he was once touted but that was 10 years ago...not seen many of his recent fights so doubt he'll win but he could make it a tough nights work for Gavin.

    Round 1

Gavin is jabbing in on the fellow southpaw, getting hugged and tossed away when he fires the left cross at the body of Barnes. A few right jabs flicked up from the hip by Barnes as he creeps on the back foot, letting Gavin come to him and present countering opportunities. Nice patient jab work from outside by Gavin.

    10-9 Gavin

That opening round was about as entertaining as watching the God Channel on mute.

They're both making for more compelling television than Paul Butler. :conf

Both of these are very technical fighters so doubt it's ever going to break out into a action fight.

Chisora-Gerber and BJS-Ryder should be entertaining though.

    Round 2

Gavin is jabbing and leaning to and fro, making Barnes lunge and miss with his own right jab or else forcing him to hold when Gavin heaves into him. Right hooks to the body worked in by Gavin now. The ref disciplines them both for scrapping on the ordered break and the spin-out. Lots of clinches as Gavin jabs in on the very defensive Barnes. Stern warning given to Gavin. Quick left to the body by Gavin.

    10-9 Gavin

This is to be expected. Neither fighter wants to lead, Barnes is CLEARLY ring rusty having had a long layoff before this year. He's gun shy and Gavin is figuring him out and fired in some nice body shots and a couple of nice shots in that round. Gavin should win this as a canter, but this won't be entertaining, I expect a Gavin decision by 118-110

    Round 3

Gavin is pushing the jab into Barnes' chest and then hooking into his throat. Barnes is waiting and backhanding up the jab from his right hip, slanting himself back when Gavin steps in to flurry, strictly minding defense for the nonce. Gavin is jogging in place and then teleporting in behind the body jab, fading out just as quickly. Jab and grab from Barnes, otherwise nothing much creative offensively besides the odd charging cluster of straights missing over Gavin's head.

    10-9 Gavin

    Round 4

Gavin is advancing, leaning conspicuously to either side and then jabbing the body from waist level. Barnes is watching him, looking to spring a trap with the left hand lead but not quite timing it as Gavin crab-walks in behind the jab.

Funtime keeps just edging these rounds...and they are no "fun time". :bart

    Round 5

Gavin is hooking the body with his right and then rappelling in with the followup straight left. Barnes is pushed across the ring and pawing his right jab as he goes. Nice left uppercut to the breadbasket snuck in by Barnes as Gavin rushed into a corner after him. Gavin is hopping in and out nimbly, showing the jab. There is a stern warning give to somebody about something, unclear. Right hook by Gavin running in when the action resumes. Clinch. Barnes ducks in low and is caught in a headlock. Right hook to the body by Gavin. Clubbing left to the back of the head by Gavin as Barnes bends over to his side. They flurry into a half-clinch before the bell.

    10-9 Gavin

    50-45 Gavin

This card is so unnecessarily late. This is around when main events should be on in the UK...not third-billed matches.

    WTF, Dean Powell?
