Round 1

Soft triple jabs by Butler, stepping around Gonzalez and feeling out the range. High single jabs by Gonzalez. Right hand to the chest by Gonzalez. Body shot by Butler moving in and out. Three punch combination lunging up by Gonzalez, missing as Butler coasts back and to his left. Jabs into the guard and hooks to the body by Butler, controlling the distance but facing a stingy defense from Gonzalez. Diving right hand by Gonzalez, holding onto Butler's waist as he washes up on the beach. Butler's longer jab is getting there first.

Anthony Farnell needs a translator if he wants his proteges to understand his corner advice. :-( (which actually isn't bad from a technical standpoint, despite his own style when he was active living up to his ring name of "Warrior")

That accent is positively brutal.

 

Round 2

Gonzalez is hopping around tossing his left jab in as he circumnavigates Butler. The jab of Butler is knocking Gonzalez's aside, while the right hand comes around to drop Gonzalez off balance as it slams into his shoulder. Very repetitive action, mostly circling and watching one another.

Round 3

Gonzalez is throwing overhand rights behind the jab, putting combinations together but still not reaching Butler from mid-range when Butler steps back and not stepping inside to follow through. A few right hands clip Butler high on the head but he stays moving and catching Gonzalez with his long jab, doubling and tripling it at times. Left hook by Gonzalez springing up suddenly with his knees straightened but not landing flush.

This is a wee bit on the dull side...and we could be looking at two more hours until Chisora vs. Gerber if there are no stoppages. (after this is Chudinov vs. Maxwell over eight rounds, and then Gavin vs. Barnes over twelve)

That means over three, maybe near four hours until Saunders vs. Ryder gets underway. :desk

 

Round 4

Straight right by Gonzalez, pushing Butler across the ring. Gonzalez leans forward and lets some jabs cascade off his crown, putting both gloves up to help them slide away, leading with left hooks after leaning and weaving as he stalks Butler. Cute movement on the outside by Gonzalez, making Butler miss the jab. Quick hook by Gonzalez. Butler hooks with him as they step around. Clinch. Butler is pouncing from side to side, both feet coming off the canvas at once and landing softly before getting the jab flowing again. Gonzalez is staying low and jerking from side to side to avoid the jab. Nice quick sneaky counter jab by Gonzalez. Hooking combination put up by Gonzalez coming forward and Butler pulls back to dodge it. Gonzalez resets and then trade jabs, both using head slips.

Gonzalez is landing the jab, getting outside, moving laterally, using lots of undulating body rolls, keeping his chin tucked, just pecking at Butler with those one-and-done jabs and giving Butler nothing to hit.
