Saunders is jumping in past O'Sullivan with right hooks and left crosses flung in mid-flight. O'Sullivan tries to chop him down against the ropes after maneuvering him against them but can't get a bead on him. Saunders is too slippery and flashing those very fast hands to blind O'Sullivan as he ducks and spins away. Southpaw 1-2s by Saunders. O'Sullivan walks through the fire, chin down and gloves up, then combines some left and right uppercuts but still can't quite catch Saunders cleanly. Lunging left jab by O'Sullivan. Saunders plays keep-away, dancing on his toes with right jabs etching into O'Sullivan's guard.

Round 7

Saunders is ducking and moving counter-clockwise. Saunders unbends his knees and pops a high-incline right jab and left cross or slapping left hand looped into O'Sullivan's bald dome. O'Sullivan is sticking out his left jab walking forward and missing, getting caught with Saunders' right jabs as he teeters in and darts back out. O'Sullivan is slowing down. Double jab on the maw by Saunders. Clinch. O'Sullivan ducks, feints a high jab pouncing up, resumes a crouch, and takes a long step inside. Saunders ignores him and moves off to the right.

Round 8

Saunders is moving left now, jab dribbling off O'Sullivan's forehead. O'Sullivan reaches in with a straight right hand and catches Saunders on the forehead. Saunders leans back on a turnbuckle and lays his arms on the pair of top ropes at 90° angles from the corner, waiting for O'Sullivan. Hurt? Tired? Playing possum. He ducks and swerves out of the corner as O'Sullivan comes in taking the bait. Left hands on the face by Saunders. Right hooks whipped in confidently, thrusting his chin up. Saunders is virtually taunting now, talking to O'Sullivan while throwing pot shots with his arms down in between at mid-range. Pause. They fix tape on O'Sullivan's glove. Time in. Saunders dances in and out on his toes. Saunders drops his guard and lets O'Sullivan touch him with the end of a few left jabs, tickling his turned cheek.

Through four it seemed this might become dramatic, but honestly O'Sullivan has wound up getting embarrassed. It's almost better to get whacked out early like Jarrod Fletcher did than lose your zero floundering ineffectively like this eating counter flurries all night.
