Or as it he knew he'd boxed quite well for about four and a half of the nearly six completed rounds, and that he was caught with a wild charging shot that he could probably be on the lookout for next time, making the rematch another close proposition...

I think he got hit, and it hurt, and he meant to getup and be saved by the bell and it just didn't work out...and that is totally fair. Any time you're still on a knee when the ref says the word "nine" into your face and you still hesitate even a split-second to jump up - you're inviting the possibility of being stopped fair and square. Malik gambled, and he lost.

Wrong, Scott's style is why boxing loses fans. Excessive holding and arm punching is not fan friendly.

So I read the result (and the controversy) a few hours ago in the pub.
I just found the 'TKO' vid and my opinion is that the ref counted to 9 and Scott is still on his knee. Taking a knee/on your knee at 9 is a big difference.
The count was quick but jeeez, if Scott was a worthy 32-0 before this then he should have known better.
I'm from the UK, understand the whole 'British KO' mentality you guys are talking about but Malik Scott is a boxer who came across the pond in an effort to make himself better known and its not as if he didnt consider something controversial in his overall plan.
Bottom line is he was on a knee at 9 and isnt British. What the hell did he think at 8?
My god....controversial stoppage, yes......but in reality he was a muppet or was genuinely TKO'd.
Fact Chisora TKO6. Fact Scott 32-1. Fact neither can possibly win a title until K2 retire.
    End of.

OMG UK judging and officiating is worse than Texas. Malik did nothing wrong ref hadn't even counted to 10 yet, ffs. I guess the ref had only 9 fingers the ****.

    * Could the ref had said 10, looked at Scott, seen hes ok.... and let the fight continue? YES. Keep in mind, he waved it off instead of counting 10.

    * Was Scott stupid for being ON HIS KNEE still at the count of 9? Yup.

It was just a lot of factors, making this situation ******ed. Its not entirely on the ref, and its not entirely on Scott. But both of them messing up in this situation lead to it being the way it was.

As it is, its hard for me to protest too much when scott was still on his knee at the count of 9, in his opponents backyard.
