Dereck Chisora will NOT be banned by the Boxing Board

    Chisora ha been heavily fined for his actions in Germany last week.

    £33,000 for the slap
    £16,500 for spitting at Wlad.
    £16,500 for the brawl with Haye.

    This is £66,000 in total. Robert Smith and the board will view this as fair punishment. He may receive a 6 month banned suspended for 2 years or something like that. Either way he will not be out of action for too long.

    He'll fight the winner of Price/Sexton by the end of the year, or maybe Martin Rogan.

    Sorry. The fines are from the WBC and German Boxing Federation. Although I believe the BBBoC have some involvement.

    Dereck has been punished for his previous offences. He may get a tiny ban, which along with fines will be appropriate. Chisora will not be banned for a year.

    Realistically though a six month ban in boxing is absolutely nothing these days.

    It's not as if he'd have had three fights in that spell, he'd probably have had one towards the end of the ban and be back in the gym preparing for his next bout.

    Anything short of a year is meaningless.

    The problem that the BBBoC will have is that if they try and do anything substantial it'll probably get very legally messy.

    i think that's fair 66k is a lot of money to take off someone. Should just leave it at that or give him a 6 month ban suspended for 2 years or what ever it is to stop him doing it again and tell him hes a very naught boy

    Didn't the WBC drop Arreola from there rankings becuase he swore at the press conference, but kept Floyd as their champion after he was found guilty of battering a woman?

    I think they've got a case in fairness.

    It could be argued that he brought the sport into disrepute. A fine is the much easier, and to be honest more logical conclusion.

    The WBC only sanction fights, they are not a governing body. Only the national governing body that issued the license should be able to deduct from purses, which in this case is BBBoC. The German boxing body can deduct as it was on their turf but even still the BBBoC should have input. What I am not for is the WBC over-riding national bodies, who the **** are they to do that?

    I'm not for the WBC being in existence.

    What does ''sanctioning'' a fight actually mean?

    A genuine question btw - if they don't ''sanction'' it, the fight would probably happen anyway, right?
