Dereck Chisora - worthy opponent, or too much too soon for Joseph Parker?

So, Joseph Parker just added to undefeated record and increased his KO percentage to 88% against Kali Meehan with a 3rd round KO last night and as usual most people (or at least from the UK) are saying he was not a serious test and that Parker would get beaten up against anyone serious. Or British.

Parker already has a fight lined up on the 5th December (NZT) and there are negotiations in progress for a fight early 2016 - Dean Longergan has said they have been having issues finding someone live and suitable who is keen to face Parker, but was in the UK last week looking for an opponent and it sounds like they may have something coming together.

TBH the only 2 British people I could imagine them putting Parker against right now would be David Price, or Dereck Chisora - Price fits into the "BIG" dude mould they are looking at putting him against but Chisora has come up in the past and previously was apparently unkeen... probably due to Parker not having suitable ranking on him.

That won't be the case now, I could imagine that'd be a match they'd be able to make and surely one that people would give Parker some respect for if or when he beats him - at least until if he beats him at which point the poms will all dig the knife into.

So, what do people think? Would Chisora be a good fight for Joseph Parker in the next few months, and how would it go?

Don't understand the hate and shift over the last year on Chisora. He only lost (albeit badly) to a guy he'd already lost to. He's still a borderline top 10 hw, beating a bunch of quality journeymen, fringe top 20 guys in Scott and (at the time) Johnson, getting robbed against the (at the time) "next big thing", top 5 Helenius, and putting spirited losing efforts against Vitali and Haye.

If Parker could beat him, he'd vault himself into borderline top 5 territory. I think its slightly ambitious right now, Price would be much safer, but I like Parker's matchmaking and performance via the matchmaking to this point and its not completely unreasonable. I don't think he'd ko Chisora, he'd have to outpoint him, not sure if he could, especially if its in England, but if so he'd stake his claim to top contender status.

Too much for Parker?.....No.....it would be too much for DelBoy, the beating he'll receive would be painful to watch for his fans.

Parker blasts Chisoras chin through the back of his spine.

Chisora is too much of a risk.

I would personally go for Price. You know with Price, all you have to do is rush him and land something, and he will be comotosed.

Yeah, and Price still has enough of a ranking for it to be worthwhile.

Yeah more I think about it the more I think Parkers camp would want Price but wonder if Price would really want that risk of brain injury

I think it's the perfect fight for him at this stage. Chisora is past it, but still a very decent opponent for someone like Parker.

It depends which Chisora shows up, his conditioning has gone to chit since the loss to Fury. If a fat Chisora shows up, Parker will simply out work him and batter him to a stoppage.

If a fit and motivated Chisora shows up it would be a small calculated risk. Chisora isn't a huge puncher but he is pretty durable and can force Parker onto the back foot and make a fight of it. It's risky but a winnable fight and would be a good test for Parker. Chisora is a good fighter, not good enough to beat the top guys but good enough to take out the pretenders.

It'd be a good fight I think. He's only been genuinely KO'd once by David Haye so he should at the very least give Parker rounds. It'll be a good test for the Kiwi and a big step up from his previous opponents.

How do people feel about Chisora in comparison with Whyte? Who would you guys pick to win a fight between those two?

I used to rate Chisora but I'd expect him to be ko'd. That said, he has mixed in much higher company than Parker.

There's a decent HW who was fighting on Parker's undercard: Izuagbe Ugonoh

I've checked a few of his fights, he's solid. I think he can be a good test for Parker

But Chisora vs Parker on Joshua vs Whyte undercard would be a great co-main event as well.

Is he? I didn't know that. He looks promising. More promsing than most US heavyweight prospects.
