Any non brits familiar with Derek Chisora? Well for those who have been reading the board the past week, would be aware of Wladimir Klitschko apparently offering Chisora a shot at his titles.

Chisora fought last weekend, stopping british rival Sam Sexton, and looked impressive doing it. How far can he go?

Chisora is Euro level at best.

He has never even fought above domestic levels in the UK and Wladimir Klitschko wanting to fight him is frankly a joke.

He's a pretty good talent. He has a decent jab, lets his hands go and is good to watch. His win over Sexton was very good and he is improving with each fight. Chisora is a tough and strange bloke but he can fight. He needs to be brought on sensibly and round his game for him to compete on the European level. He is one to watch out for no doubt. How far he will go?? Hard to tell. Let's see him clear upat British and European level before arguing how he would do on the World scene.

Sam Sexton was ranked at 12 by the WBO, Chisora just ko'd him,
so he'll move up to around nine....

domestically he is relatively untested. he needs to fight the likes of skelton, fury, harrison. then step up to euro level, the likes of helenus, dmitrenko, sosnowski, then step up to top 10 level, chambers, peter, povetkin, chagaev. then he might be ready for a shot.

i would say 2 years away minimum.

so far the record of his opponents is

    228-206-14

he has never face anyone who has held a belt above british level.

his best 3 opponents are sexton, williams and lee swaby.

    give the guy some time.

Generally speaking, I agree he is a fair fighter, but he lacks the sufficient size to survive against bigger Klitschko's, Helenius, Fury etc

Solid looking British prospect but it's clear he is a domestic level fighter. From what I have seen of him he is easy to hit and is predictable and unless he improves his technique and versatility he will not go beyond domestic level. Despite the quality of the division, there are plenty of more naturally gifted heavyweights out there.

If this fight actually happened with Wlad it would be a complete mismatch.

He is a fun fighter to watch, thats about it though, I doubt he will amount to anything other than a good euro/domestic fighter as he is not refined enough in terms of skills, plus, the way he fights, which is essentially straight ahead, you need to be exceptional at something to succeed at the highest level, which is either punch power, speed, chin etc, I dont see any evidence to suggest he excels in any of those areas.

I guess you could say he is somewhat like Sam Peter, only possibly faster, only with less power.

Havn't seen a whole lot of Chisora, but here's my two cents from across the pond:

Up side} Good head movement,,, Decent footwork/mobility,,, Lets his hands go,,, Throws combinations,,, Decent hand-speed,,, Solid chin (?),,, Warrior attitude/mentality,,, Entertaining personality,,, Undefeated.

Down side} Lacks size and strength,,, No real 1-punch KO power,,, Throws alot of wide/looping shots,,, Neglects the jab, and bodywork at times,,, Despite good defensive movement, seems to get hit alot,,, Still a little green, with only 14 fights,,, Untested at world-level.

A worthy British and Commonwealth champion... and an interesting HW "prospect".

Still needs time to develop into a legit contender for world titles.

Not a good idea to fight WK in December, unless he wants to go down in the books as Klitschko's 50th KO victim.
