Tbh look at the total roster of the top 30 and HW is great. The rankings are not anywhere close to being a reflection of reality. Chisora is not ACTUALLY a top contender. Theres 3 guys with 1 top 5 loss who are outside of most top 10s. Its absurd.

Jizz goes to show. You should never count out Derek ''Dildo Boy'' Jizzora.

For people saying he earned it. Please tell us how he earned it.

I like Chisora, but even I wouldn't say he has, really...

At the same time, I'm not sure anyone other than Parker really has.

Beating a gatekeeper and an aging and declining former contender isn't a bad recent record... The loss to Fury aside, his last 4 fights are 4 wins include decent wins against two declined former contenders in Pulev and Joyce, a gatekeeper in Wallin and journeyman Washington.

Doesn't sound much... But look at the clamour for Kabayel to get the shot, and what's his last 4 wins like? A decent but very old and questionably proven fringe contender in Zhang (remember, he's 3-3-1 against top 200 ranked fighters, that's really not great), a couple of highly hyped but not well proven prospects in Makh and Sanchez, then a bit of a nobody in Agron Smakici.

Unless we really fall for Zhang's hype... Is there really that much of a difference between the two recently? Especially considering a LOT of people are making the case for Kabayel (I wouldn't) and most don't think Chisora deserves to be anywhere near it - for me if either deserves it, the other probably does too.

he is a great servant to the sport.

and that is prolly it...seriously how unfair is it for a guy to go back to back with monsters for years to get a title shot and then hustles 3 wins, once a year against spent forces. gets him the same result. mental

Yep Usyk and Fury when at his best are 2 guys that you are 90% sure they are going to beat whoever they fight but as for the rest of the heavyweights all can be beaten on any given night.

    Strange things can happen. Lol.

It's certainly not remotely likely Chisora could pull off the greatest boxing last hurrah ever seen.

BUT, the old cliché, 'it is heavyweight boxing' should never be 100% ruled out...

Victory or loss is never impossibly far away, possibly only a one (or few), well timed, well placed punch, and it could be good night Vienna!....

Heres a fun fact. In boxing recs HW rankings Chisoras 13 losses are the most of anyone in the top.....163. Oliver McCall is the highest rated HW with more losses than Chisora(14).

Oliver McCall(the former champ) is 59 years old turning 60 next month. McCall is on a 4 fight win streak which is actually more than Chisoras 3.

To be fair, Chisora was robbed against Helenius, Whyte, J-Park and either avenged losses or should have wins over men who beat him in Pulev, Whyte, J-Park

5 of his losses are SDs or MDs

His legit losses came against Usyk, Vitali, Belly x 3, Haye, J-Park, Pulev, Kabayel and Whyte and most of his loses have been very competitive or competitive

He should be 5-2 in his last 7 with wins over J-Park, Big Joe Joyce, Pulev, Wallin, and Washington and 2 losses to the current #1 HW and the now #3 ranked HW and his last loss before that was to the current champ Usyk. So all his losses in the last 6-7 years came at the hands of HWs who are ranked top 4 now

And with KDs against J-Park, Big Joe Joyce and Wallin all of whom have either never been down or are teak-tough and rarely go down

Its not just the number of losses. Besides Wilder theres no one else with 4 losses in the top 50 and no one else with 6 in the top 100. If we handed Chisora some wins in close fights you argue he should have gotten he still has the most losses of any top 100 HW fighter.

Boxing rec rankings might be awful but I feel their top 50-100 isn't the problem just the order.

This is the major advantage of ufc and having the majority fighters in house. Although they still show favouritsm, there is a ranking system and it's easy to identify top challengers

Too many belts has ruined boxing. Dubois might hold an ibf strap, but it's a hickey mouse belt while usyk is active. Daniel is not really a world champ, especially as he lost to the man

Chisora's Indian summer is arguably still happening, squire. ;)

But has said 'Indian summer' actually peaked yet as it's now approaching the inevitable autumn?..

All it may take is one impromptu, one off scorching hot out of season HOT day, and throw in a stormy thundering night..

    Lighting can invariably strike....

You just never know, if, where or when...
