Even a fringe contender will score good wins if they fight everyone. That's what Chisora was in his prime, and now he's a shell of himself. I'm not buying the excuses, Chisora has looked over the hill for 5 years now

If I told you a prime Billion Shyte smashes this version of Chisora to pieces there's nothing you could say to dispute it, he was on par with a younger faster more active Derek and knocked him out

Yes, Chisora is positively an ATG compared to some of the contenders and title challengers in previous eras, again, including the golden ones

People keep claiming the HW division is garbage. I completely disagree. The division is pretty good. The sanctioning bodies however, are ****.

naah, its garbage. relatively speaking of course.
and im not even talking about accomplishments and resumes, just simply studying the skill level in doing what it is that each does. but you need to know and understand boxing to be able to see the difference in level of execution and completeness.

But it´s always been similar to what it is today: A strong top 5 with a meh everything else.
Right now the top 5 are transitioning out of the spotlight, mainly due to age. But ironically the rest of the division is shining because they are actually fighting each other.
Right now we have guys fighting each other, unlike for most of the last decade plus.

Now if we were to talk about garbage, sure, the 21st century heavyweight scene is pretty garbage in comparison to the 70s and 80s. But right now we are better off that we have been in a long while.

i think its more exciting than the wlad era. more interesting cast of characters making more interesting fights. but the skill levels just arent there. not that they were there throughout wlads reign, cause they mostly came from the same mold being used today. thats why i was telling everyone since wlad was champ, that a guy the size of ali would come around and beat all the hw around. because i could tell there was still at least one level of performance higher than what i was seeing from these big lumps...possibly 2.
and youre familiar with my posting, you know i dont say that about all divisions. theres guys around today that could compete with the top guys in any era. just not at hw, outside of uzyk. no bias involved, just an honest assessment through my experienced eyes.
not pretending my opinion is gospel, but i know some things about boxing that is obvious to me a lot of people dont. i know you know your boxing, but the ones that start crying about me being nationalistic or biased towards past eras obviously dont know enough about boxing to challenge my points with insight, so it becomes a matter of feelings with them. i dont care what era or where a fighter comes from. i assess them like i would an animal athlete. its just about their performance.

70s-90s. 90s probably the most talent heavy, then 70s, and then 80s. i didnt see much from the 60s, and its been declining since the 90s.

The current era is better than the first half of the 80s. Probably the Klitschko era too

that could be the case. theres sometimes a shortage of real talent in transitions between eras. but you could still take that entire decade and compare it to any 10 year span since 2000 and find a higher level of competition back then as a whole. just look at the people who have competed at the top level in the more recent era. wilder, ngannou, ruiz, chisora, joyce, etc....i mean, come on.
