Derek Chisora vs Deontay Wilder targeted for April

Wilder is done imo. But will be happy if he proves me wrong

 

wonder how much truth there is to this considering we were all talking about usyk/wilder last week like it was basically confirmed.

Maybe the rumblings of Usyk's team struggling to get the wilder fight done in America are true and this is a last ditch effort to build some hype for a usyk fight afterwards BUT considering where Wilder is right now this has banana skin written all over it. Chisora's past his best but honestly looks like he has more in the tank than wilder at this point.

 

Honestly, I've always thought Chisora was likely to win...

Styles all wrong for Wilder, hits hard enough to stop him and in all honesty there's far less between them in levels than most thought in Wilder's prime.

Wilder is probably getting stopped here. But he will definitely get beaten up and lose a decision.

Wilder is severely shot, if you watch his last fight you will see a man who lost that killer instinct, the speed, the snap, and the timing has all gone. I think he was done after the 3rd Fury fight, it buried him.

 

Ortiz was always overrated - he had one half decent win (Jennings) and was old by the time Wilder found the courage... And Ortiz still would've won first time around, without interference.

Stiverne wasn't as good as Chisora.

Wilder would've always lost to Del - styles all wrong and one was always overrated and the other, if anything, underrated.
Chisora gave contenders a much tougher time than Wilder.

 

prime vs prime (or back in 2013 when this fight was originally in talks to happen) I agree its still close but I dont think I would make Chisora the fav considering how vulnerable he is to taking shots. Sure chisora has the power to get wilder on the back foot and land some powerful punches on him but prime for prime im not too convinced he does it without getting caught up with a instant KO punch himself.

 

In their prime wilder will KO him, same way Whyte did. He will be winning until the KO though, as he’s too brave for his own good

 

But currently I expect delboy to finish the fight before 8

Wilder would've struggled with the pressure and he wasn't all that durable - if he could get through long enough to land the big punch he could win, definitely, as you say Chisora wasn't that hard to hit.

It's more of a 50/50 than most would admit, but I would make Chisora a slight favourite.

 

Peak vs peak = a workhorse punchbag vs a puncher.

now = an old workhorse punchbag vs can’t pull the trigger

 

But it could sell Chisora 2, Usyk is a excellent chess player lol. Wilder is far more winnable and a bigger name than Wardley, and if Wilder wins then he'll be coming off a win against a name when he fights Usyk
