Lol what the ****.... Holmes was one of the most skilled HWs ever, i'd slightly favour him over Usyk tbh. Del Boy is tough and game and had a solid showing against Usyk, but come on....
Saying Chisora hits harder than Shavers is wild Has to be a troll The standard of HWs over time has regressed, Usyk would do well in any era but the best 10 fighters on his record compared to the best 10 on Holmes record shows how strong the era of HWs was back then
Chisora on his best day gives anyone who isn’t too tall, a very tough fight, guys like Vitali and Fury were able to just land long punches on him and then stick their arms out and he couldn’t get near them, then they could tie him up. People may think Holmes could do that, but I suspect not. He’d have a rough first few rounds like Usyk did, but then he’d be able to control the fight and time Chisora with uppercuts set up by the jab, and win on points.
I'm a bigger fan of Chisora than I am, or ever was, of Holmes. But , nah, Holmes frustrates the hell out of any version of our Derek. A big points decision win for a peak, Holmes. Stick and move. You just know how it probably goes. But even back then, Chisora would have been a hard nights work for any of the elites of the day. The money of the time back then, AND a few years before, even, would have been VERY well earned from the elites, any of them.
I think the result would be summed up as Tex Cobb said about his bout with Holmes. “We played tag, and for 45 minutes I was it!” Ok in modern age it would be 36 minutes, but result would be the same, Mr Chisora eating Holmes jab throughout the fight.
It's 01.35 so just a few Del Boy would have murdered...Charles Martin, Stiverne, Bruce Seldon, Leon Spinks, John Tate, Gerrie Coetzee and I stand by he'd have beat Wilder.
oh, Chisora would have been a perma pain the ass to any era’s division. Kind of his specialty. The close but not quite good enough guy who has never been informed he’s not quite good enough, who is so goddamn stubborn that his loses dont register or make him doubt himself, and who shows up ready to win every time. hard to not like the guy. His most recent fight (Joyce) was like watching a Rocky movie in real life.
agreed. there are plenty of individual strap owners he could have beaten. Right time and place, he could have been a champ and even defended successfully a few times.
I can't see Larry getting into an unnecessary dog fight with a less skilled opponent. That is just not his style. Shavers was not as hard a puncher as this type of dude and he almost had big Lurrry out of there. I gotta go with Larry leading on all cards the whole way until getting one-punched out of there. Ohhh, that's where I think you're wrong, Luf. Don't be a classics hipster. Chisora put the screws to a significantly bigger class of men and he himself is significantly bigger. He almost certainly hit harder. Mass = force x speed. He was faster, and he hit harder.
