Derevychenko vs andrade was close to being to fight on the undercard or lemieux and saunders. Andrade had pulled out due to him feeling 7 weeks wasnt enough
Andrade should stay away from Derevychenko and GGG which are IMO the worst stylish match ups for him at 160.
Didn't know that fight was actually in the works. So, Andrade stays at 160 then, despite his chin probably not being up for the task?! I'd actually expected him to move back down after testing the waters.
He had been dropped before, but in his first fight at 160 he even got dropped by relatively featherfisted Fox. So speculation about his punch resistance, certainly at 160 has already started.
This. I always thought Andrade could probably outbox damn near anyone in any weight class around him, his problem is that I think he's frail mentally and physically (just like one of my favorite fighters, Chad Dawson). Out of this world skillset and could've been a HOFer if not for his mental deficiencies. Andrade gives me that same feeling.
Toughest fight for both fighters, but Derevechenko probably outlasts Andrade. Great fight, and hope they can make it happen in early 2018.
I just don't get it with Andrade. He's dropped titles, walked away from Charlo, Lara, and now Derevyanchenko, which would've given him the mandatory slot to GGG had he won.....and still talks about how he's avoided and wants a GGG fight. I get that 2 months isn't a ton of notice for someone of Derevyanchenko's caliber, so I cut him a little slack there. Add it to his prior career decisions as a whole and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, though. These fights falling through are always coming from Andrade's end.
Andrade is a good fighter but his size concerns me when he fought vanes. At 154. His rehydration weight was 166. . when he moved up to 160. His rehydration weight was 168.
How can seven weeks notice not be enough to fight someone? I've seen people do it in less than seven seconds.
