Have’nt seen much of him, if at all apart from highlights. What’s everyone’s opinions if he fights current GGG ? He looks like a hard opponent for G so far with the clips I just watched. It’s got war written all over it imo. Good punch selection, confidence and youth on his side. This could be a helluva lot closer than people think. Opinions please

I don't think he wins but I do think it's close and I do think it takes a lot out of Golovkin. D has good hand speed, moves around the target pretty well too. Sure he hasn't had much pro experience but his WSB days will serve him well. My one concern for him would be that he's not used to being whacked as hard as this and that can often deter fighters when they step up. He does throw a lot of different punches but I have to wonder how much of that is because he's been allowed to more or less do what he wants thus far. If he can somehow disable GGG's jab then he has a real good shot, but that's a huge if. He's isn't going to slither around on the back foot so it has every chance of being a real fun fight

Fat Dan was saying this should be GGG's next fight but with GGG's age and possible slippage, it's one his GGG handlers will want to avoid. I haven't seen anything of him but he sounds a bit of a nightmare.

He's fighting guys with 10+ more fights than he has when he's only had about 12 himself probably means
Derevyanchenko's team think he's the real deal.

I think he's Golovkin's natural successor actually, and might have a pretty good chance to upset the current version.
If the fight happens anyway, I expect him to make it about as difficult for GGG as Jacobs did, with the difference of having less chance on the scorecards due to his nationality.

Very good post, your description of him is what I seen in clips. He could outwork GGG imo. He surprises me how he can switch head and body well, he throws naturally if you know what I mean. Also it’s the kind of fight G doesn’t need at this stage, long taxing fight that might drain the well.

I’m not overly confident putting GGG in with anyone with a good engine at this stage. He has spells where he takes time out and I think Derevyanchenko could be there at the end throwing and GGG spent

Derevyanchenko could win, so he won't be the chosen opponent for Golovkin's next fight.

I’d prefer Spike if he’s got Canelo later this year, big if though.

Golovkin KO. It'll be a tough fight and this guy can box and brawl if he wants to. I just think he's a little too wide open coming inside.

Jacobs is better than this guy. More dynamic, better at punching at angles. This guy is too basic. I like his footwork but that's it. He may be more durable than Jacobs, though.

I’m not seeing the basic in him, for me he has good punch selection. I see he might be easier to catch, but that aside he looks capable to me. I could see him giving Jacobs major problems, I also think he’s overrated slightly DJ

Yes, and very highly. So highly, I can't with any confidence pick who would win a fight between he and Golovkin, and I would have said that before GGG fought Brook.

So you think he could well be the uncrowned king at 160 then, interesting. I would’ve definitely picked GGG pre Brook, but he’s not as intense, I think he worries about his gas tank now amongst other things. I have a feeling, a gut feeling if they fight, it might be passing of the torch time like has been said. Him and his team have belief and the limited fights I’ve watched this morning there’s something about him, he don’t hesitate, punches heavy, young, hungry and the most important ingredient for me is he’s got that EE attitude, that cold belief, like he knows he’s very good
