    I don't know; Solis-Austin is up there.

People like to sugarcoat Solis' run as a contender and remind us all of his amateur prowess...but he's really looked quite shitty - especially in his last outing. He really isn't any better than Rossy or Rahman. He's got the undefeated thing going for him...but then so does Tyson ****ing Fury.

Solis getting a titleshot is not that bad, at least he is a guy who knocked haye out.
You all complain about federations matching shitty eliminators, but the reason it is so is that most of top10 didn't want to participate. Dimitrenko, Ustinov, Boytsov - they all rejected the offer. In a perfect world IBF would dump them out of top 10 if they don't want to fight for the belt.

Right there. I remember the term "gatekeeper" meaning a damn good fighter a prospect had to get through to reach the upper echelon guys. There aren't any gatekeepers anymore, so just about anybody can work their way into an eliminator/title shot.

Chambers getting KO'd after losing every round qualifies him for an eliminator?

And Rossy doesnt deserve it either

Derric Rossy isn't bad. He's a bit slow, but he's got some decent skills, some tricks if you will.

    Again: who's in his way?

Who is out there that's so good that getting beat up and knocked out by the champ makes Chambers fall below them?

Thompson has strung together a few wins and fought a better fight vs Wlad than Chambers and I am way more interested in that rematch than Chambers

I actually agree, Tony's been clawing his way back up for a while now.

The problem is he's older, and networks will therefore probably not want to touch a rematch even though he did do better against Wlad than Eddie (or anybody else in recent memory).

There are some old guys who can draw a crowd, but they're mostly the ones who were big names at some point. Thompson unfortunately just never was.

But Thompson is with Goosen (like Chambers), so there's a promotional conflict.

Don't blame the IBF for this eliminator. Rossy is the highest ranked fighter willing to face Chambers. Dimitrenko, Boystov, Helenius, Banks, Mormeck, Povetkin and Adamek all turned down the offer to participate in the eliminator.

being inactive after a KO loss shouldnt make you ranked # 1 , as sad as it is, i would rather arreola fight for a shot at wlad rather than chambers
everyone knows chambers will school rossy and everyone knows he has zero chance against wlad...a 209 pound guy with no punch aint gonna win many rounds against wlad....
and no one will want to see it

Rossy isn't a great heavyweight and I'm not crazy about him being in an eliminator but there are a few things to factor in.

1 A number of guys turned this fight down so Rossy wasn't the first choice

2 This isn't a final eliminator, you have to win two fights to get a title shot so its not one win and you get a title shot which makes it a little better

3 There are 4 titles out there and usually 4 champs(3 at heavyweight at the moment) so that means if each champion defends their titles 2-3 times a year there can be 8 or 9 guys getting a title shot a year. So, unless you want the exact same guys getting every shot you are going to get guys like Rossy fighting in eliminators or getting title shots every year or two. With that many title shots going on every year you're going to have to get lesser rated guys getting shots.

Again, I don't think Rossy is anything special, there are fighters I'd rather see in his position, and Chambers(who I think is a good heavyweight) should beat him comfortably but when you look at the whole picture its not a big deal
