Derric Rossy will be Wilders next opponent for WBC-title shot if he beats Stiverne

That would be disastrous.... Sure, there are too many belts in boxing... I'd take that any day over one man having a completely monopoly over professional boxing. Really would constrict the sport, and take away from a lot of freedom professional boxers can enjoy compared to the UFC.

But it would theoretically allow for "world champions" to actually be world champions.

What we have now is like having 4 world champions in soccer, and somehow Burkina Faso being ranked #4 in one of them because the president of Burkina Faso F.A. being on good terms with one of the governing bodies.

Or Canada getting a shot at winning the world cup because they beat Belarus. etc etc

Ehhh...... I'd rather the sanctioning bodies just do a better job at making their champions face the best opposition around, and do their best to make realistic rankings and throw out of
the politics. A UFC styled format under Al Haymon would be disastrous, and could singly handily destroy the sport. I'll take boxing as it is today as it is instead of that.

No, UFC is a promotion, no one considers UFC fighters world champions.
Boxing is a global sport precisely because there are global governing bodies. When you hold a boxing organization belt you're truly a world champion.

You've noticed this as well.......announcing the fighters as the champion of the world without even mentioning which alphabet they hold. The PBC belts should be coming soon :deal

I agree with you on the Glazkov-Rossy fight. I had it 6-4(I think) for Glazkov in a close fight that could have gone either way. No robbery at all though some of the cards were way too far out of line.

I'd disagree with Rossy being acceptable as an opponent for Wilder. Rossy's worked himself into being a respectable jourymen type of fighter but not one who should be getting a title shot.

Soccer is the most global body, yet there arent 4 FIFAs and if their was, people would think its ridiculous.

Also it depends on the belt. Time was the WBO was looked at the same way the IBO belt is now.

If its not Haymon, SOMEONE will eventually bring boxing under one roof.

Well Rossy isn't beating Stiverne so I doubt this scenario will play out.

Honestly don't think Stiverne has any better than a 50/50 chance here after his inactivity and ensuing hospitalization, along with the severe brutal ass kicking he received and in general him just getting older. He's 37 now, and had a pretty extensive amateur career.

Rossy is tough, with a good/active jab. S****py. We've seen more than one limited fighter severely trouble Stiverne the past few years. He was trailing an ancient on points Ray Austin (And struggling mightily against the most basic of jabs) until he finally caught up with him late.

Everyone seems to forget the Willie Herring and Charles Davis matches as well. Stiverne can shine against certain kinds of opponents, but Rossy isn't going to mindlessly charge in on Stiverne. What can Stiverne do but counter at this point in his career? He's abysmal on the front foot.

Rossy is coming off of having his ass beaten from pillar to post by Trevor Bryan 2 months ago, so I don't think he'll look too good either.
