Well that is fair. He probably isn't acceptable but at this point I don't expect much from Wilder. Outside of mandatory's which he'll be forced to face I think he'll just like up on journeymen. I do feel if Rossy wins he will be better than Molina and Dugaupas but that doesn't say much. And your right a belt holder should not be facing this level of opponent over and over.

Hard, competitive fight with Trevor Byran 2 months ago >>> brutal one sided beatdown with hundreds of flush landed punches against a puncher like Wilder 10 months ago

Especially considering only one of these guys bothers to be in any kind of shape regardless. Inactivity is the last thing Stiverne needs at this point.

Its never bothered him too much in the past. What has he fought like 3 times in the last 5 years.

The Bryan match was very competitive at the start but it got increasingly one sided towards the end, I expect the same thing with this match, Rossy may trouble Stiverne early, but his lack of power and tendency to gas late lately will work against him. And I think Stiverne still packs enough of a punch to take him out in the early rounds.

Muscle turns to fat real quick if you stop training
and gobble buffets and lay around...

On the Showtime pre-fight hype it showed Stiverne
gobbling plates of greasy sausage pasta then showed
him hitting the heavy bag... he was gassed after
hitting it a couple times like my grandma!!

I knew then he'd lose to Wilder... before that I'd
    picked Stiverne to decapitate Wilder...

If you got extra $$$ to throw a fight... wouldn't you
just slack off on training and eat like Dustin Nichols??

    :hey

If Stiverne can't get Rossy out of there it'll be interesting. Rossy is certainly capable of outboxing and outworking Stiverne, but he's just as capable of getting caught with something and taken out of the fight. I'm seeing Rossy as q 10/1 underdog, 12/1 even higher...... Throwing $10 on him isn't that bad of a gamble, Stiverne is very flawed.

He didn't throw off the fight, it went exactly like I thought and said it would. Stiverne is vastly overrated. But Rossy isn't very good either, his only real recent claim to fame is getting quasi-robbed against Glazkov, because Glazkov really sucks.:deal

or like my grandma training for a Bingo Game!!!

Some of the best heavyweight odds since Charr/Duhaupas which had Duhaupas as an 8/1 underdog, even higher :patsch

It's a good bet, I'm finding even 15/1 other places. Stiverne is nowhere near good enough to be 15/1 against anyone in the top 50

Let's not forget that Arreola was OUTBOXING and ahead prior to being stopped in the 6th.

Stiverne is just not that great. I might throw $10 on Rossy because why the **** not? Sure Stiverne probably knocks him out, but those odds are ridiculous.

I wouldn't be shocked if Rossy got a title shot if he upset Stiverne. Wilder hasn't been facing top tier contenders in his title defenses and Rossy would be the type of guy Wilder's been facing.

A guy like Rossy getting a title shot(if he beat Stiverne) wouldn't be a big deal if Wilder's other defenses were against top 10 heavyweights. Like you said its the over and over part of guys like Rossy getting shots . A run of Molina, Duhappas, and then Rossy would be a pretty bad run of title defenses, and I say that as a big Wilder fan.

I like Wilder's activity level for a title holder and a fight with Povetkin by summer would make up for defending against guys like he has been(assuming his Jan fight is on their level). But he really needs to face Povetkin or Wlad after he's done with his January defense.

Be honest with yourself man, Bermaine threw that fight. Never seen him fight out of character like that.

This whole thread is based on a fallacy. Wilder's fighting Glazkov next.

Byran has far better stamina than Stiverne, he can fight at a consistent pace over the course of a fight, so Rossy gassing against him has little to do with his stamina against Stiverne. Also, he's what, 26 or so? Bermain is on the wrong side of 30.

Stiverne is dangerous but he's a counter puncher, when he has to fight on the front foot he's awful. Rossy can peck and jab and just not overly engage Stiverne if he's intelligent. I doubt Rossy is going to lunge in and overcommit with straights, Arreolas favorite punch.
