well in fairness, going by the beating Ricky handed out to all the above mentioned guys except Anthony only sparred him years ago and Campbell that was a very good spar, the main reason it was a close spar is simply Ricky can't handle southpaws effectively something I had mentioned many times

Agree Abril beats Crolla too. I understand your point regarding Derry but when he has stepped up even at Euro level he has got beat. Don't think any if them deserve world title fights at moment tbh

    I disagree.

    How about Gamboa? Broner? Marquez?

Ricky was defending against the Beltrans of the division and still struggling. But you won't admit that, though!

And Burns got handled by a nobody... This isn't the time for triangle theories.

Ricky was the champ and never fought the best at the weight bar Crawford.

Gamboa, Broner, JMM & Crawford were the names. He ducked Broner.

Look at Froch - he's fought EVERYONE at SMW (bar Degale), but he's fought the rest. Ricky was struggling with the lower half of the top 10 in his weight-class, never mind the Gamboa's (who would have been all sorts of wrong for Ricky), Broner, JMM etc.

    :lol::lol:

In all honesty, Gamboa/Broner/JMM were miles in front of Ricky.

He would have struggled so bad with them.

How do you see the fights with them panning out? Obviously you'll back your man, but how tough would those fights have been for the Rickster?

Broner and JMM have moved to 140lbs Gamboa alledgedly moving back to 130lb so dont see what relevance ur question has tbh

Well Ricky wasn't KTFO by Crawford like Gamboa was, stop being a **** stirring ****, you can't accuse Ricky Burns of ducking the best when he literally just fought the best in his division. Plus Miguel Vazquez was the real man at lightweight, not Broner, and Ricky was down to fight him

Forums would be a hell of a lot better without people like you

Gamboa had ONE fight at the weight ffs, you're acting like he was some killer who Ricky avoided like the plague, Gamboa isn't even a legit lightweight, and he wasn't around the weight long enough for Burns to duck him even if he wanted to!

"Ricky never fought the best except when he did fight the best"

    utter drivel

Miguel Vazquez was the long time real champion at the weight (Antonio Demarco was certainly not, despite what the Ring magazine said) and Burns was signed to fight him before ****** ****ed him over.

At the time Gambia was a FW or SFW
    Broner moved up to welter
Marquez move up to LW or WW
What do yo want Ricky to do beg them to stay at 135?
