Alledgedly its Darleys Perez for the Interim WBA strange though as he won on Friday and is now mando for Abril which means he has no real need to fight Derry , Derry vs Abril was touted about twitter but Abrils lawyer released a statement saying they hadnt even been contacted by anyone who represents Derry

Yeh I'd heard the exact same thing myself... Makes no sense at all for Perez to take the fight & especially after he fought last week. And yep nothing regarding abril , though they said "nothing as yet & would discuss if the occasion arose" however you'd imagine 48hrs from the conference they'd have it all sorted, then again it's wazza were talking about.
Honestly if it's not a world shot or a "legend returning" then I'd be embarrassed to be creating such a nonsense & experience says it will be a show about nothing.... i genuinely dont see how he gets anywere near a world shot , hes failed at both euro and wbo euro level , the last kid he beat was a novice and i thought he was lucky to beat Gethin , Ormond was a SFW and schooled him , Gavin Rees and Marsilli blew him in half with body shots , he avoided flannagan and Commey like the plague so for him to call out anyone at world level and also tweet hes the best in the country including Burns is hillarious , Ive very close friends who used to watch Derry Spar Ricky regularly and most times it last 3 rounds as Derry was getting a pasting !!!!!
They are, and your right. Gamboa got stopped against Crawford as he came to fight, Ricky came to survive out of range, never tried once to force fight. Its like say Liverpool playing Real Madrid opening up and attacking and getting beat 3-0, and say Stoke who aint as good playing them and only losing 2-0 as they had 10 men behind the ball and never attacked. Ricky only fought Crawford as he was a mandatory, would never have fought him otherwise unless there was an extra 0 on his pay cheque
Yeh I get what yer saying stevie & I agree. But it also think the way he's going on & it's being built up, anything less than world title fight is laughable , fight of his life & all that... For what it's worth I like the fella, granted he's been found wanting when he's been stepped up, but I'd still like him to have a go, one thing about Derry is when he's in there he leaves it all in the ring - he's a veteran who I wouldn't begrudge another shot in the big time That said, I don't think he's got the goods to deliver - but would happily be proved wrong.
