This fight looks likely to happen if Mitchell wins on Saturday night. For me if Mitchell is still in his prime, it's a mis-match. Mitchell has wins over Breidis Prescott and John Murray. I know styles make fights but does anyone think Derry could beat the Prescott and Murray who Mitchell beat?

Mathews had problems with Tommy Coyle and Emiliano Marsili's movement, Mitchell is a good mover.

    Mitchell stoppage IMO.

Agree 100% with your viewpoint on it.

It will sell and seems an obvious fight to make but Mitchell is far too good for Mathews.

Yeah I agree. Derry will probably give a good account of himself in the first few rounds but Mitchell is a couple of levels above, I would go for a mid round stoppage for Kev.

However Derry does has a punchers chance and if he does pull off the shock I hope he would be given credit for a good win...

derry has done well for himself, i can remember when he came on here telling us he was hanging up his gloves for good, he seems to be getting better with age and i wouldnt be suprised if he beat mitchell, good fight to make and it will sell.

Yeah but Mathews hasn't got the skills Burns has got so he won't land those shots IMO.

Hearn should give Marsili a nice brown envolope and try and get him to vacate the European title! haha

Then they could have it for the European/Commonwealth/IBF Belt that Mitchell is fighting for Saturday (if he wins)

The winner of that will surely get a nice lofty ranking and be in line for a World Title shot next year...

Whys that ? Boxing is about levels and Derry isn't on Burns level, Derry isn't even on Mitchell's level IMO.

Because Burns literally couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag and Derry hits hard.

Whether Derry can land the perfect shot that Burns did is a different matter mind.

Harsh on Burns, he's certainly not Malinaggi and has clearly got stronger over the last few years since moving up.

Derry would pepper Kevin with his jab all night long could see a late stoppage in Derry favour.

not as straight forward as people are making out.

Mitchell has weak legs and isnt strong at all, in fact he would be nowhere near as strong as tommy coyle.

Matthews hits hard and whenever mitchell takes a shot a part of me is thinking, hes gonna go, hes gonna go.

    Would be a interesting fight

This would be a great fight. I'm sick of Mitchell claiming to be more active and then not seeing him for a year. He us a really exciting fighter and there are a lot of fights domestically that could be made for him.

How does he earn money outside the ring? Is he active enough to not have a job outside of boxing?
