Abril is "in recess" Perez is "regular" They will have to fight when Abril comes back [if the WBA enforce their own rules]
Round 7 Mathews is bobbing and slide-stepping to his left, exchanging jabs with Luis. Mathews lives up to his ring name, getting a bit dirty with clinching and hitting behind the head and on the break. Luis responds in kind, throwing a right past Foster, who turns and warns Mathews for having provoked in the first place. Luis is caught by a cracking right hand as Mathews draws it back like a bowstring while flicking a lazy lulling left jab. Luis now pushes Mathews into a corner and shreds him with L&R uppercuts. Luis giving Mathews no breathing room. 10-9 Luis, very close, best shot belonged to Mathews but Luis more consistent over the entire 3-minute period. 68-65 Mathews
To his credit, he's being very even-handed in this and I've not disagreed with any of his warnings. He may well dock a point from Mathews first.
That was filthy, on replay. Mathews landed a low blow combo during an ordered break, and then sneaked in a right on the chin as they were separating.
Finally a point! Expect one to go the other way soon...we may end up with a 9-8 or a very rare 8-8 by the end of this...
