Luis's good start carried the 10th. Matthews righted the ship after that, but didn't really land much of consequence.
Round 10 Mathews is getting harried across the ring, pinned on the ropes with double jabs and sliced with right hands as Luis bends completely over, head at crotch level. Luis is warned for billy-goating, coming awfully close to butting Mathews in the junk. Mathews is looking ragged until about the midway point and spends the remaining ninety seconds on his bike, popping jabs into the air. 10-9 Luis 95-93 Mathews
Round 11 Mathews is doubling a jab and staying outside, keeping a pace ahead of Luis. Timely clinches by Mathews. Luis is slow to get anything going. Big slapping overhand right by Luis, grazing as Mathews ducks aside, reaching out and holding. Luis is throwing single blows now, his feet not carrying him inside as quickly as he'd like while letting the punches go. Mathews is effective but ugly with the jab-and-grab, draping himself over Luis to shut him down. 10-9 Mathews 105-102 Mathews
Luis needs two knockdowns on my card just to force a draw, but no matter what he comes away from this with his stock risen while Mathews' falls.
Round 12 Mathews is getting clobbered into the ropes. Big left and right hooks from Luis driving in close. Mathews is unable to jab him away, so he tries some forearms and elbows on Foster's blindside. Luis just keeps pressing in. Uppercuts by Luis. Mathews clinches. Foster breaks. Mathews is flapping out left hooks, missing overhead as Luis submarines in and works those big cleaver shots with both hands. Lots of holding from Mathews. Luis reaches up and slashes his left glove across Mathews' neck. Right hand by Luis. One in response from Mathews. Final minute. Diving right by Luis. Mathews is unable to hold Luis off, just hanging on for the final bell. 10-9 Luis 114-112 Mathews
:yepI love Red Heat one of my favorite movies I used to quote lines from it all the time when I was a kid in a bad Arnold voice.
