I'm still amazed that a dedicated boxing channel doesn't show live weigh ins before the big bouts or even some sort of documentary following the fighters a few days before a fight, channel is certainly lacking and really needs to buck up there ideas.

 

Astounding. Pre-launch you would have expected a solid production team in place.

I honestly don't understand what is so difficult about sending 1 camera man to stand and record live. You don't even need to send Buncey etc Literally just press record and job done. Weighs in usually take 30 minutes and that is that.

Get a bunch of young enthusiastic cameramen, even on internships to do training montages. Trust me, there are alot of camera/production/movie guys out there who are hungry to get such an opportunity.

Training footage is easy. Stand there for 2 or 3 hours and then cut all the **** bits out to reduce it to 30 minutes.

 

If I could, I would genuinely doa bit of filming etc. for them if they needed it, and Im sure hundreds would jump at the oppurtunity to get that experience.

 

and I'm sure your not the best around but I'd be shocked if your production or presentation was any worse then the informal Bunces Boxing Hour.

 

The cameras I used when studying television at college produced better quality footage than anything on BN. Its almost like the people running this channel are a decade behind, not just on production values but on almost everything.

 

Especially with the cost of things now, you can get HD broadcast quality equipment for relatively cheap costs now. Even investing in DSLR cameras that film for montages etc isn't a bad idea- the sound isn't great but not of great importance for those sort of segments.

There just needs to be more of an infrastructure, it all just seems a bit thrown together at the moment.

 

Its like it being run by old men who are completely out of touch with todays boxing fans. Its sad, really, and there 5 month minimum contract will do them no favours at all.

 

They should be doing this but I'm just happy the fights get shown. I do think the Bunce hour/hour and half lacks acertain something it had on setanta... they need to get Kerr back!
