That's why Prizefighter can suck. A fighter with a broken hand would never take a fight. He should have dropped out, sure it would have been disappointing but he had his career back on track at that point.

yeah prizeifthers weakness is also its disadvantage. they go harder for 3 rounds and therefore can break noses and hands or recieve cuts.
anyone remember the bami cut a few years ago. going back into a fight when he clearly was lready unsuitable

Something I noticed about the Mathews fight, Buckland kept stepping to him to close the range, but he did it by holding his hands up, so even though he was in range to be hit with the jab, he was able to make it difficult for Mathews to land cleanly with the jab, as he was able take some of his jab on the gloves, now once he'd edged his way into that distance, it meant he was closer to Mathews to send that right hand over the top, which was effective given Mathew's height.

Buckland is the kind of guy you want to keep in the middle of the ring, as he can overwhelm you if you give him a momentum on the front foot, the problem Mathews had, is that he is exclusively a long range fighter, so if he Buckland took away some of that range, he would invariably take a step back to regain it, only that gave Buckland the chance to step up to close it again, in an effort to stay closer, which is where (Mathews)you eventually find yourself on the backfoot, giving Buckland the momentum he needs.

Good analysis, I think that Derry was tired and this resulted in him fighting the wrong fight in terms of distance.

Also, Buckland displayed power we have not seen before, by virtue of him being a bigger man stepping down in weight class.

Buckland is very beatable, but credit goes to him.

I feel Derry's problem is his fitness, he always looks very fragile and prone to losing his feet movement, which keeps him away from shots. If he dominate with the jab at long range for a full 12 he is the king domestically.

Yeah Buckland is very beatable, I guess this format really suited him though.

    Yeah could be.

I think a very tired Derry just simply struggled to keep a much fresher and stronger man off him. I thought he did well for a period trying to keep it long and when the distance closed he was using lateral movement and digging the uppercut in but ultimately Choi had taken too much out of him for him to stay at range against a beast like Buckland
