I have read only a little bit of Derry Matthews, one minute hes **** hot the next hes a just a little scally from Liverpool
Everybody loves him on ESB. He's known as a real peoples champ and people were gutted that he lost to Choi Tsenpuraeev (?spelling). Derry is pretty decent but no more than domestic class. I would love him to go for the better domestic matchups and then on to European level fighters but firsrt he needs a gimme comeback fight and then a potential rematch with Choi. I would not be surprised in a move up in weight to Super feather and matches against Ricky Burns and Carl Johanneson.
I was Impressed by the way he schooled Foster Jr though. I thought he could do decent regardless of where I;m from, plus he's a Northern scouser while I;m a southern one, so I show no bias. He didn't have an answer for Choi's crude hooks, I think Derry's euro level at best. Lately, I'm picking the guys who have the skills but not the physical strength or explosiveness needed.
