WBF and IBO are ****. Derry, re-establish yourself on the domestic scene and stop ****ing about. Get involved with the British and Commonwealth title and start putting on some good domestic scraps on Sky. If you can, step up to European and if you are very lucky, a world title shot. Find your level and stop hiding behind these trinkets.
Oh ok mate didnt see that due to being abit :rasta. Can anybody explain what internatioanl means, was under the impression international means world wide as in th definition of the word. So these bull**** organisations re-dfine words to suit their trinkets. International champ means exactly the same as world champ, as where exactly inter continental defining (europe, africa, asia, australasia, north and south america) or is it yet again soem random trinket? Bemused, always thought it was ****, but the more i ponder the more ridiculous it sounds. No wonder the casuals cant keep up with over 8 world champs, and some of them are only interim/emeritus/gold/silver/diamond champs :-( Then they have international - which by word definition is the same as world for **** sake :fire and now intercontinental -what the **** does that mean and define exactly? :huh Finally the other rant is how the **** the Derry Mathews of this world who live eat and sleep boxing who know how bull**** these trinkets are, even bother with these shite and try passing it off as legitmate? for instance Willie Limond was a wbu 'world' champ not so long back :-( Awful, boxing is truely in a dire state without a mandatory global governing body, we need a 'fifa' installed (of course without a sepp blatter/jose sulaman type figure head) who regulatesboxing with 1 set of rules and 1 set of ranking.
:deal :good 100% bang on, know your level and try your best. You have been beaten domestically a few times and not good enough to be British Champ, yet these trinkets overstep the Nation's strap and Europe's strap and offer a bull**** route for the frauds of boxing as it were. Gets ko'd in the final at prizefighter then straight in for a 'inter-continental' (whatever that means :-( ) strap. Disgusting.
To be fair the IBS list of current world champions is bloody impressive: http://www.ibsboxing.com/Champions.html
I told you they were dire :rofl hilarious mate, they have changed the profile photo of their president as before he looked like some greesy yank with a dirty white vest on, i remember discovering them on the general forum and it was in uproar the ibc havent even got a proper official site, just some bull**** host at tripod.com
Brummy, **** knows what those titles are now but *I THINK* at least 1 version started off as being open to the fighters ranked 11-30 in the world, the holder was then eligible for a "proper" world title shot even though he wasn't top 10 ranked. Now they just seem to make it up as they go along (not that original justification bhind them was that **** hot!!)
Did you get my argument tho? instead of a bull**** belt a ranking system should be implored similar to that of boxrec. But where as sky sports show the different english leagues ;prem,champ,lge1,lge2 etc etc. then they could do each weight class from flyweight upwards and show the rankings. They could then try and push promoters to make fighters to top the ranking and thus creating less mis-matches and a more orderly format the casuals can follow. It'd be very easy to instate as sky has the power of pushing it in conjunction with the bbboc. :good
Usually the problems with trying to get boxing to do things the same as others sports is that boxings so different. The big change I was hoping to see over the last few years when the new regime came in at the BBBoC was the reemphasis of the British title and good use being made of area titles as stepping stones or for fighters of a certain level.
UFC do it properly as an example, i know boxing is so different but if they had a proper body like the ufc and then separate divisions for each country they could keep on top of it and put fighters in meaningful fights and your could see's careers really develop and not get lost. You could annihilate all mismatches and create potential barn burners nearly every month. Fans would come flocking back in their droves and t.v companies would have huge viewings in comparison to now.
On thing about the UFC is that the fans get to see the fights they want to see. Isn't De La Hoyas long term goal something along these lines? An effective monopoly at the top end of the sport to be able to dictate which matches are made?
