****ing hell has this not been done to death already?

    Its simple.

Derry won the first fight convincingly. - NO ARGUMENTS
They drew the second fight. (I personally gave it to Crolla by a couple of rounds). BUT IT WAS A DRAW.

That means Crolla failed to beat Derry twice now regardless of how you look at it.

Crolla then got a shot at Rees (which Derry is understandably a bit pissed off about) and he won it convincingly. FAIR PLAY TO CROLLA.

What has happened here is neither Crolla's fault nor is it any easier for Derry to take. Its just how boxing works sometimes. However the old 'styles makes fights' adage is no truer than here. Crolla failed to beat Derry twice however (IMO) put Derry in with Rees he'd have been KO'd. Fair props to Ant, hard lines for Derry.

And I say that as someone who knows Ant (ableit not too well) and roots for him in every fight because the lads a gent. A proper nice lad.

Macky, I cant believe having met you personally and thinking you seemed ok how much of a beaut you seem. You're literelly losing Ant (one of your supposed best friends) fans on a daily basis. If I didnt know the lad i'd half fancy myself rooting against him just to shut you the **** up!

The first points you make are more than fair Crolla got his chance & took it against Rees.Fair play to him.

Mathews & Crolla have served up two great domestic fights as a neutral a pleasure to watch.

Hope they have a 3rd fight & what I hope most of all regardless of any title/ranking being on the line they are paid well for it enjoy watching both fighters.

I know you say that tongue in cheek but I do think others could take a leaf out of his book. After the Choi KO, Ramagadi, Lyndsey and then Scott Lawton all stopped him many (myself included) thought he should've retired. He turned his career round tremendously since then so props to the lad.

I (and i'm presuming Crolla himself) thought Crolla would walk through him in their first fight. Have to give Ant props too for rematching him and doing so well (I gave it to Ant)

I thought he was finished too and also expected crolla to blast him. Done really well for himself SINCE, good luck to him.

Thought Derry won rematch, though i am a bit biased

I think Burns v Crolla probably would be one of the worst mis matches I've seen in a long time. Joke fight.

Its funny how after the 2nd fight Derry didn't wanna know about a rematch "I’ll leave it to Dave Coldwell" and then Dave was like “well we might go this way…”

Now that Crolla smashed Rees and got in bed with Fast Car Eddie and the Sky platform, Coldwell and Derry want the 3rd fight. 6 months ago Crolla needed the 3rd fight more, now it’s Derry that needs the 3rd fight more.

None are desperate though so it should happen, plus they got paid peanuts for the second one so I can’t imagine it’d cost TOO much to make (more than the 2nd obviously) but could easily fill the Bolton Arena or with the right undercard the Echo Arena. It makes great financial sense for Matchroom and Sky would be on board, easy sell with the casuals.

Get it done, winner gets Burns.

The time could be right as Echo Arena could be used for this with big ticket sales , you throw Rocky v paul smith on the show and it starts to take shape

Haha Echo arena, doubt they would put it there after last times antics.

Get it at the Velodrome. Great venue for Boxing. believe it holds 5 or 6,000. Quigg & Crolla on the same bill. Crolla wants bigger fights than Derry though, Derry had his chance at the 3rd fight and didn't want it. That was blatently obvious.
