I know Derry is a good kid who will give 100% in the ring now he is back to his best, and the kid from Wales who comes across as a nice guy is a very strong fighter.
I can see this being none stop action from start to finish and with loyalties aside I still see the new back to best Derry taking this.

Derry did look good against Crolla, but for me there is only one winner here. Rees has proven himself as a world level fighter (at the wrong weight!). Maybe he's not world level at the moment, but he's still an under rated fighter in my book. Remember he's only lost to Kotelnik and even then he put in a good show.

Rees stoppage by round 7 I think, but I really like Derry (how can you not?) so I hope he puts in a good show and lasts the distance.

This is the fight I'm most excited about for Saturday, could be a real war, Derry's performance against Crolla is my favorite domestic performance thus far this year, then again I really like Gavin Rees as well and think he's criminally underrated so I'm on the fence and just wanna see a great fight!

That said, if I had to predict I say Rees on points or by late stoppage.

No. Derry was never and never will be as good as Rees.

Its all about levels and Rees is levels above.

It was unfortunate how the first fight ended, was shaping up really well. Derry's had two hard, grueling battle's since. The boy puts the work in as well i mean this is his third 12 rounder of the year and against good quality operators.

Those two hard battles may come back to haunt him in this one. Mathews needs to find his range as quick as he did in first fight. Rees he needs to use his lack of height to his advantage and slip inside and break the body down which Crolla to his credit as doing well and with Derry coming out of stance when pressure he can once he's feet are close enough let the up jab and overhand right go.

Mathews has to make his jab the priority and stick the right hand in behind it keeping Rees occupied and also drop shots into body to slow the Welshman down.

I think it will be a fantastic battle, Rees may take his time and look to use Marsilli's tactic of staying at range with feints and then using quick combinations. Derry won't go down without a fight and will roar back when hurt and that's what makes this fight fantastic.

Stoppage around 9th or 10th. I wouldn't write Derry off mind, He's not the sort of guy you want to take lightly. Just feel Rees finds a way to win each time, he's bullish and can fight going forward or back and i think he'll see the last two bouts as more ways to win this battle. The first fight he rushed out a little over zealous and looked to be settling just as the fight took a sudden stop.

Big fan of Rees and have to pick him, I do like Derry though and he has a few tricks up his sleeve, should be a good one

Obviously its Derry. How can it not be,"hes a scouser" of which he keeps reminding us. lol.
That line just keeps getting cornier and cornier.
No seriosly i predict a Rees win by k.o after a tough and hardious scrap.
Although they are both a credit to British boxing. I see Rees as the better man.

Yeah it's a worry, Derry at times falls in and Gavin comes up with punches. Wouldn't be shocked if it happened again..
