not really. leonard won the second fight during contract negotiations because duran's manager hung him out to dry. leonard and dundee knew they couldn't beat duran at his best so they made that fight knowing duran would have trouble making weight in such a short period. it's also part of the reason leonard didn't do the rubber match with duran until 1989.

if u watch the 'no mas' fight. leonard didn't really do anything to make duran quit. he didn't land anything significant. he was ahead on the cards...but it wasn't by much. cosell made that out to be much more than it really was much the same way lampley has done with pacquiao. learn to watch a fight...don't be swayed by what's being said.

Ishe did not quite make it to the top but MP took him from nowhere and got him to a point where he had not yet been at.
MP got Ishe Smith that belt and it´s pretty damn impressive.

Well if Hopkins didn't have belief in his abilities then he wouldn't still be in the game at 48 never mind champ. But I see what you're saying and I don't see him winning that one either.

  7. The fight with Micky ward where he is fighting that undefeated Mexican guy who is supposed to beat ward, and Micky looks bad the whole fight and frustrated, and the commentators are saying he should quit and not fight anymore, and the throes two brutal body punches and the fight is over and then everyone is celebrating ward and the commentators start changing their tune, moments like that are great

  8. when marquez knocked manny pacquiao out. i couldnt believe it. i was sober, but it felt like i was drunk.

It was close esp with the kd. I notice Love keeps his chin hanging out at times when hes firing his combos. I just kept thinking, man this guy is playing with fire.

That's round 9 of Gatti/Ward 1 for those of us seeing white boxes instead of youtube.

Ortiz dropping Berto in the 6th after getting the **** kicked out of him all round

Pawel Wolak vs Delvin Rodriguez for the fact 2 guys on an ESPN card can dish out with so much heart and bravado

Tarver clocking Jones, it was one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed in sports

Banks defending our sport by dropping Seth Mitchell

The middle rounds of Brewster vs Liahovich

very interesting segment on this in the book Hands of Stone where basically his manager Carlos Eleta basically realized Duran was gonna implode from the victory and eat himself fat and party himself away

They made the fight in an effort to cash out one last time before the pay day evaporated, seemed smart for the management at the time, ****ed the fighter big time

Agree the commentary is just so fitting for the moment. I've probably posted that video half a dozen times myself on here.
