Conservative boxer/puncher who uses the earmuff defense? Or patient pressure fighter who uses the jab? Puncher or Pressure fighter? - Jack does come forward and can apply gradual pressure but he takes few risks early. He will often crowd and put punches together on the inside but labeling him a pressure or an inside fighter seems too generous. He does throw combo's but they are typically counter punches/flurries over the top of an opponents punches then he goes into his shell earmuff defense or gets out of range to start all over again behind the jab. Boxer? - He uses the jab often but he doesn't have the conventional boxer movement, he is very deliberate and slowly shifts forward behind that high guard. However, he is patient and offensively waits for the right moment. His offense is predicated on that jab, he picks his shots in a way to minimize damage and with his consistent earmuff defense he has to termed "a boxer"right? I see elements of Winky Wright, Juan Diaz and little bit of Clottey in his style although he is by no means on their level.
Jack not on Clottey's level? The last I checked they were both 1-0 in world title fights. :conf ...and Jack has time a-plenty to build on that, whereas Clottey...
If he beats Groves on Saturday his career automatically eclipses Clottey's already with exactly half the pro experience.
