Nothing wrong about Ruiz! :patsch Don't you value sportsmanship in the ring? Ruiz violated one of the earliest rules of the modern sport - the prohibition on excessive holding. And he did it in virtually every fight! Why?? Because he could win at the world class level using his mediocre boxing abilities. That's cheating.

And that doesn't even include the times - at least three of them - where he overacted to get "low blow" calls, once against Jimmy Thunder to get a crucial point deduction, once against Holyfield to avoid being counted out, and multuple times against Kirk Johnson to force a bogus DQ.

Without all this cheating, and his connections with King, Ruiz wouldn't have even reached the level of the Golotas, Krasniqis and Barretts - ALL of whom are far more talented fighters.

God...the Johnson fight pissed me off. The Canuck should have been bringing the title back up north. To be fair though, Kirk allowed Yawny the opportunity to get the false DQ by repeatedly hitting him on the belt line. If he had kept his punches up top for the last few rounds, it would have been different. Both of those guys should have been dragged around the arena by their toenails after that fight.

he's a great example of what a guy with only a tiny bit of talent can do if he has a great promoter and fights in a horrible division with multiple "world" titles. the fact that this guy even held a major world title tells you what shape the heavyweight division has been in the last several years.

That's true. I don't think King could have perpetrated the Ruiz Fraud on boxing and its fans if the division had been more competitive. But even so, it is still a stain on the game, and exhibit A of EVERYTHING that is wrong with the sport these days.

Ruiz was world class enough to get robbed against Valuev though, was one of the only fights he fought clean In too and Ironically It was Valuev who jab and grabbed.

Hopkins was the first fighter to **** me off when watching a fight, glad Calzaghe didn't get robbed.

You haven't watched enough Ruiz fights, my friend. I just re-watched Golota Ruiz last night. Outside of Golota's KD's, it's horrible - one of the worst fights I've seen. I don't know how anyone could justify giving Ruiz that decision. And it's not even Ruiz WORST performance. :patsch

Look at this crap, and tell me you can call that "boxing!" And tell me it doesn't **** you off to see garbage like that passed off as a "title fight."

Wow, thats even worse than I remember. On top of the blatant constant cheating, he didn't even WIN that fight by way of rounds, Golota beat him 7 rounds to 5 + 2 KD's even WITH Ruiz allowed to cheat!

He got gift decisions on top of being a horrible cheat.

I'm amazed that some people are willing to forgive him for such horse**** tactics just for being in a few better fights.

He's nothing special, but at least he fights WITHIN the rules. I would love to see him starch Ruiz in their upcoming fight.

Yeah, he should be a great sportsman like Evander "I heard Mike Tyson used steroids but I didn't use them because I didn't want to be a cheat" Holyfield.

I have to say one thing. I would not want to fight Ruiz. He is akward. And doesn't know when to quit.
