Despite Anderson's sublime performance, the night belonged to Nogueira!

Yep, and yet the fresh prospect got caught and stopped by him ;-)

 

I was surprised by all the people that seemed to be against Nogueira going into the fight yesterday. Turns out, that wasn't the case. I guess the Schaub guys were just voicing their opinions more. After tallying scores in the prediction league, roughly 15 out of 29 picked Nog.

 

Yep, 2 of my fav fighters did the job, Nog & Rua... big Nog is the man, happy for him

I was chuffed. One of the nicest guys in mma.

Thought he moved his head a little better but still got caught with some big shots.

I dont think he matches up well with Mir unless he can take him into deep waters. Prime Nogueira would just walk him down all night though.

I am elated that the classy Big Nog knocked out Schaub with his countrymen cheering their approval. I have never been a fan of Schaub's. It was unexpected but oh so satisfying!

 

Very happy for Big Nog last night. I honestly thought Schaub was going to walk it, so my flat pretty much exploded when he got the knockout. Would be a great win to retire on, but if he wants to keep fighting I'll be cheering for him every step of the way.

Shout out to Stanislav Nedkov as well. He was the only foreigner to fight a Brazilian and win, and in his UFC debut. Rio was the lion's den last night, the loudest crowd I've ever heard, and the Bulgarian delivered the goods under what must have been enormous pressure.
