Despite Cotto having no chance, Floyd should get MUCH more credit than Pac vs Cotto!

Some dates on these quotes would help, otherwise they're useless. I myself thought Cotto wouldn't be able to bounce back after losing to Pacquiao and Margarito and picked him to lose against Yuri Foreman. You know what, though? He proved me and many other people wrong. Moving up in weight was a good move for him because he's comfortable, strong, and lasts an entire fight. Dominating Margarito is also a big boost mentally.

actually, if you check some of the quotes, they were made even after cotto had beaten margarito and some are made when there was news that pac is fighitng cotto again. some fans deliberately changed their opinion upon learning that floyd is fighting cotto next.

Floyd was coming out of a nearly two year retirement when he fought JMM and people already had a chance to see that JMM didn't look so good with the extra weight before "Pac" fought him again. Also, before the JMM fight "Pac", his team and his fans were all talking loud **** about how "Pac" had made all these "improvements" and was about to steamroll JMM. What do you think the respective odds would be today if JMM was given a rematch with both? :hey

It has nothing to do with anybody's abilities. All that is, are gamblers perceptions.

    Cotto's slower at 154 than 145.

Why would anyone pick Yuri Foreman over Cotto? Just because the guy got beat by the best, that doesn't mean he suddenly lost his abilities. Cotto's abilities has always been up there with the elites. Cotto is pretty smart himself in the ring, he knows what he needs to do.

This is an interesting fight because the only reason Cotto received that beatdown from Pacquiao was because he got caught with that shot in the 4th that he couldn't shake the effect of the rest of the fight. Now does Mayweather have that kind of power to put Cotto in a daze? If not I think Cotto can hurt him.

Well, I thought he had everything going against him. It would be Cotto's first time at 154, so I thought he might be a little slow. I thought Yuri would be too tall, too quick, and too smart for a newly 154 Cotto. Foreman isn't a bad boxer, but I didn't know he was THAT feather fisted. I thought that after receiving a brutal beat down from Pacquiao, Cotto would be effected by a 154 punch. I think it could have been a different night if Yuri was 100%, but he obviously had leg troubles and didn't train fully for the fight because of it.

No, it proves that there are several factors involved.

Again, what do you think the respective odds would be today if JMM was given a rematch with both Manny and Floyd?
