...i dont think he's a shot fighter and props must go to Senchenko for riding out the storm and finding that tremendous shot to finish the match. Just a few points i think we should consider.

For three and a half years out he timing was not all that bad, it was only when he tired that Senchenko came into the match, being past prime and rusty really isnt a great combination.

He won the first half of the fight fairly comfortably.

He should have come back with a 6 round or 8 round fight, stamina takes time to build up.

    Duke McKenzie is an idiot.

I think he was definately past prime, but i dont think he was shot, shot fighters dont look that good for a few rounds. The definition of a shot fighter is Roy Jones Jr or James Toney, guys who dont even look good for a round or two.

Ultimately he should retire, boxing really isnt something he should be pursueing at this point.

Again major props toward Senchenko who came into the lions den and got the job done. It certainly wasnt the easiest thing to do and we all saw how a noisy atmosphere affected world class guys like Bute.

    He is shot.

He can fight at low-med europeon level at most

    Forget about a title
    Forget about Brook or Khan

    He should retire.

Its really sad but Ricky has nothing left...and his style doesn't age well, he takes far too many shots. When he was younger he could deal with it but no chance now, and he's not likely to beat any credible opposition who are easier than Senchenko.

He's no longer an offensive threat, since his accuracy and timing seem to be gone. And that's the only thing that made him successful. Even in the early rounds he threw a lot but missed badly many times and just wasn't landing any quality hard combinations. The commentators were right, if he continues he will end up hurt pretty badly.

he's shot but if he contiunes he needs to go to 140lbs and start from the bottom doing 6-8 round matches against lower lesser oppononents and work his way up
doubt he's gonna continue though.........he looks mentally finished

It got some much needed hype for his promotion company, I think that was more the aim.

He looked okay in the first five, after that he needed the fight to end as soon as possible.

Not shot but not prepared enough to fight many game contenders. He might have done better preparing against a lesser opponent in a shorter fight and eventually beaten someone like Senchenko over 10, but all the same, it's probably better this way.

Stopped reading after that. Prime Hatton would have had stopped Senchenko in less than five.

He's shot. should we outline everything?

    - He's been out of the ring for 3.5 years
    - His footwork has deteriorated
    - His timing is gone
    - His hand speed has declined.
    - His reaction time is not nearly as good as it use to be
    - Because of his declining reaction time, his defense is porous.

Very few fighter can make a comeback with all those odds stacked against them. A prime Hatton would take this guy out in 6 rounds. This Hatton is shot and should retire.

His lack of defense would have kept a not shot Hatton from a title at 147. Throw in slower reflexes and it gets worse.

Credit Hatton for wanting to fight the best, not take on a string of overmatched fringe contenders. Unfortunately, the fringe contenders are all he needs to fight.
