    You have first hand experience of watching hundreds of fights? Well then you must know all about how body shots feel.

    Get in the ring, take some body punches then come back and tell us whether they slowed you down.

    Froch-Kessler I: Kessler's body punches had a massive effect.

    body shots can slow down a guy BADLY but you have to land many of them...lara wasnt affected at all by receiving less than 10 body punch per rounds...

    The op should watch the fight again on you tube. lara never slowed down because canelo only landed three body shots. The other shots were to lara buttocks back nuts hip thighs and arms everything else he hit ghost and air. remember its a business and the cash cow was on display so dont believe the hype. watch the fight for yourself

    Frocbh-Groves 2

    Seems like in the first few rounds, Froch specifically went after the body

    I was a boxer in college. Yes, head shots do far more damage than body punches. Body punches just last longer. I took a hard body shot once and I was sore in that spot for weeks. But a hard shot to the head during a fight will disorientate you, make your legs freeze up for a few moments, and make you struggle to keep your balance.

    Body shot work really well when the other fighter is soft in the body, or you land in the perfect spot, like a floating rib or the liver.

    barrera v mckinny is a classic textbook example of a fighter using bodyshots to slow his opponent down on route to a brutal stoppage

    The most fearsome body attack I've seen in a fight is Ali-Foreman where Foreman attacked Ali's body with what must have been the most heavily sustained body punches in HW history.

    For 15 rounds Foreman unleashed on Ali and in all the fight, I can't recall even one body shot that Ali attempted to throw at Foreman.

    After 15 rounds it was the head shot focused Ali that sent Foreman crashing to the canvas and getting the win by KO.
    Hence the saying;
    Kill the head, and the body will follow.
