You have to be clinically spasticated to think that someone with that body and a youthful hairline is anywhere near the age of 50.

Think it's just banter at this point. Though if Wilder beats Ortiz you bet I will be calling Ortiz 60+

Once Ortiz has ktfo Wilder Alabama will have a minutes silence - i.e. they will stop their incessant banjo music for 1 minute.

Great detail. he should have fought murderer's row like Ortiz did. You're a boon to the board...

Ortiz is packing the same glass as Wilder and hasn't beaten a decent HW with power.

As much as I thought Wilder was all hype, there is no denying that he gets out of trouble with his right, and subsequent windmills. Wilder needs to fight smart, and use his length, and that right needs to evade the parrying hand of Ortiz.

    Wilder KO8

as an AJ fan I am hoping Wilder KTFOs out of Ortiz.

Then all the casuals who think KOing bums and pensioners is the pinnacle of boxing and claim WIlder to be the GOAT thinking that saying stuff like "half hybrid" and "good feet work" is cool, will be put on suicide watch when AJ dismantles him with ease. Then a statue of Eddie Hearn will be made on the moon.

    Wilder 2/5

    Ortiz 7/4

    Draw 33/1

I like Wilder here but not at that price. The human/hybrid has youth, athleticism and his vaunted KO power. The fact that the sports shot-callers want to make Joshua/Wilder is a factor also worth considering, this is boxing after all.

Ortiz has looked formidable at times despite the age concerns and up until now none of the other big dogs at HW have been in a rush to face the Cuban. I am all over the place trying to figure out how I see this one going but right now it seems close to 50/50, slight edge to Wilder. Ortiz is a tempting bet.

People who know their stuff should post some predictions/breakdowns for this fight. People seem to be pretty evenly split in who they favour, an intriguing clash and the most interesting fight since Joshua/Klitschko.

It's hard to break it down TBH.

You're going to have either one man dominating the other. I don't think it'll be a 50/50 back n forth afair, more along the lines of one man will dominate the other. But who will do that is what's in the air.

But for what it's worth I think Wilder holds the edge in that his speed will be far more an advantage over Ortiz's counter punching style. Wilder I think will throw first and catch Ortiz because of his unorthodox style of boxing. While he leaves himself open and it's quite clearly there to be taken advantage of, he also presents the issue that if you leave your self open to counter him, you could eat what he's throwing which has often spelled goodnight. I don't think Ortiz has the reflexes or speed to evade Wilder whilst still effectively counter punching.

Ortiz has a style that's well suited vs most heavyweights, but I think that's based on the fact most HW's are relatively 'slow' and orthodox. I think he'd stand a far better chance against Joshua tho IMO.

Wilder is very vulnerable to certain types of fighters, but not especially so against Ortiz unless he goes on the front foot.

I think Ortiz would have beaten Wilder by KO about four years ago, but Luis appeared to be old and faded in his past few outings, and was inactive for a full year.

He's officially 38 years old, some say much older than that.

But I hope the OP is right - I'll be rooting for Ortiz.
